The School of Chinese Language & Literature of Central China Normal University, established for more than 100 years, is regarded as the front rank of its kind in domestic universities. Currently, it covers a number of faculties of over 120 members, including 38 professors (28 doctoral supervisors), 51 associate professors and a lot of famous scholars from home and abroad. Moreover, it has established one key research base of National Humanities & Social Science and one key discipline.
At present, it covers 10 doctoral stations, including Literature & Art, Ancient Chinese Literature, Chinese Classical Document, Chinese Folk Literature, Contemporary & Modern Chinese Literature, Comparative Literature & World Literature, Chinese Language & Literature, Linguistics & Applied Linguistics, Linguistic Comparison between Chinese Language & Foreign Language, and Message Processing on Chinese Language & Foreign Language. There are also 12 master stations including Literature & Art, Ancient Chinese Literature, Chinese Classical Document, Chinese Folk Literature, Contemporary & Modern Chinese Literature, Comparative Literature & World Literature, Chinese Language & Literature, Linguistics & Applied Linguistics, Modern Journalism, Mass Communication, Dramatic & Movie Literature, and Chinese & Didactics.
What’s more, the School covers 3 national competitive courses and 3 kinds of academic magazines published towards home and abroad. The School has a superior tradition of teaching and learning, and it has cultivated over 20,000 intellectuals to the society. Currently, it covers over 800 graduate students and 1800 full-time undergraduate students. After their graduation, most of them are recommended to enter related Master’s degrees or Doctoral degrees. On the other hand, it attaches great importance on domestic and international academic exchange, such as USA, Japan, Australia, England, South Korea, Singapore, HK, Taiwan, etc.

Application time
For Degree applicants, the deadline for application is June 30 every year. The academic year begins in September.
Entry requirements
For Bachelor’s degree: the applicants should have senior high school diploma, academic records, and HSK certificate.
For Master’s degree: the applicants should have Bachelor’s degree, recommended by two associate professors or above, and HSK certificate.
For Doctoral degree:the applicants should have Master’s degree, recommended by two associate professors or above, personal research plan and HSK certificate.
