International Students
There are plans for having international students come and study at CUAS in the near future. The international student can study the classic disciplines, such as those in the sciences or social studies, or can study in specialized areas such as classical Chinese art or multi-media. CUAS has modern living facilities and a variety of campus activities in both English and Chinese to stimulate the interest of the foreign student.
Study at Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences (CUAS) 
I. Enrollment Qualifications
1. Foreigners and overseas Chinese, over the age of 18 and in good health, are entitled to enrollment.
2. Foreigners and overseas Chinese, over the age of 18, in good health and with a high school or above diploma, are qualified to work on a BA degree. Other qualifications must be in accordance with relevant requirements.
II. Application Procedures
1. Applicants should contact the International Affairs Office (IAO) to obtain “the Application Form of CUAS for International Students” by e-mail (gjc@cqwu.net ; puyang666@126.com). Come in person to submit or mail the completed application form and “Physical Examination Record” to the IAO.
2. The university runs spring semester and autumn semester. Applicants should submit the materials between September to December for the next spring semester and submit the materials from February to June for the autumn semester.
3. The IAO will mail the “Acceptance Letter of Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences” and “Visa Application for Foreigners Wishing to Study in China” (JW202) to those who are qualified.
4. Apply for “X” or “F” visa at the Chinese Embassy or Consulate with “Acceptance Letter of Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences” and “Visa Application for Foreigners Wishing to Study in China” (JW202). Applicants should register at International Affairs Office of CUAS at the required time of “Acceptance Letter”.
III. Programs Offered
Now one-year non-degree programs (elementary, intermediate and advanced training classes), short-term training program and four-year undergraduate programs are offered.
1         Curriculum for Non-degree Program
(1) Elementary Program: Basic Chinese, Chinese Conversation, Chinese Listening, Chinese Speaking, Chinese Reading , Chinese Characters.
(2) Intermediate Program: Intermediate Chinese, Chinese Conversation, Chinese Listening, Chinese Speaking, Chinese Reading, Selected Reading From Chinese Press, Chinese Writing.
(3) Advanced Program: Advanced Chinese, Chinese Conversation, Chinese Listening, Chinese Reading , Selected Reading From Chinese Press, Chinese Writing, Translation, Survey of Chinese Culture, Appreciation for the Famous Masterpiece of Chinese Literacy.
(4) Short-term Program: Chinese Listening, Chinese Speaking, Chinese Reading, Chinese Writing, Chinese Conversation, Survey of Chinese Culture, Appreciation for Chinese Operas, Chinese Wushu (Martial Arts), Chinese Cuisines.
2         Curriculum for Undergraduate Program
Main specialties: Chinese Language and Literature, Law, Economic Management, Pedagogy, Psychology, Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, Computer Science and Technology, Physics, Information Technology, Chemistry, Environment Engineering, Biology, Agricultural Technology, Physical Education, Music, and Fine Arts.
IV. Features of Teaching
1. All the teachers give classes in standard Chinese.
2. On the basis of their Chinese proficiency, the students are divided into elementary, intermediate and advanced classes, short-term classes and undergraduate classes.
3. Chinese is taught in small classes of less than 16 students.
4. Special classes can be offered through the consultation of both sides.
5. If necessary, lessons can be given in foreign languages.
6. We will arrange “tour study”, in which students, as they study Chinese, can appreciate in person the unique scenery of the “ Mountain City ”, they can visit places of scenic beauty, historical interest, and cultural heritage such as the Dazu Treasure-House of Carvings and the Chinese Tea Culture, and they can observe the diverse folklore customs of west China . Such tours will deeply impress the students with depth and breadth of Chinese culture.

VI. Tuition Fee
1. Study cost
(1) Tuition fee
l          undergraduate programs:
Liberal arts: US$1800 per year per person
Science:US$1900 per year per person
Arts: US$2200 per year per person
l          Non-degree programs: US$1500 per year per person
l          Short-term training program: US$50 per week per person
(2) Registration fee
US$ 50 per person
2. Housing cost
(1) Suite (with an air conditioner, a color TV, a telephone, a bathroom, a sitting-room and a sofa) US$5 per day per person.
(2) Single room (with an air conditioner, a color TV, a telephone, a bathroom) US$3 per day per person.
VII. Remarks
1. Undergraduate programs students should enclose the results of HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) with application Form to Office of International Affairs of Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences.
2. International students should pay all the tuition fees and other fees involved in one week after the term begins. The registration fee and tuition fees are non-refundable.
3. International students will pay their costs of textbooks and other fees brought about by optional courses according to what courses they choose. If international students want to take optional courses, they should pay US$ 100 per person per semester for one optional course.
4. International students should pay their own expenses of medical care and other fees which are not included in the syllabus.
5. International students should pay their own expenses of telephone and power.
6. International students can have dinner in dining halls on campus or cook by themselves, and the cost for food is about US$3 per day per person.
