In the architecture and art school, there are 316 undergraduate students in the architecture major, while 77 in the city planning major. Until now, through decade’s concerted efforts, the school has cultivated over 900 persons with ability of architecture knowledge for the country. Together it has recruited the postgraduate students for 18 years including the graduates for 15 years with the number of more than 130.
The school is strict with both teaching and study. The faculty is becoming more and more competent, who are full of sense of responsibilities, high-level teaching skills and large technical knowledge. In all there are 10 professors, 20 associate professors, in which there 8 professors, 8 associate professors, 3 doctor supervisors and 16 master supervisors. The school owns kinds of facilities such as reference room, computer room, model laboratory and physics laboratory as well as many professional ateliers.
This master degree program is divided into five research fields: architecture invention theory and design plan, environmental behavior and architecture plan, domestic architecture culture, architecture technology and practice, city design and theory.
There are 14 high competent supervisors including 6 professors. They are impressed respectively by their expertise of architecture invention theory and design plan, environmental behavior and architecture plan, exposition and cultural architecture, city planning, indoor environment design. They also win a great deal of medals in design competitions both at home and abroad as well as research programs in various levels. We guarantee all the curricula will lead the students to define clearly about their majors at the same time acquire extensive knowledge during the study In recent years, we have achieved amazing results in discipline research and program practice.
In the latest five years, all together more than 20 monographs are published; over 100 academic articles are released; 10 plus research programs are accomplished for the province and ministry many of which bear the palms in the provincial and critical competitions.

City planning and design major
There are 3 professors, 2 associate professors and 4 teachers in this mater degree program, including 3 key teachers who get their master degrees and study in America and Japan. Now the program has become one of the three master degree programs of city planning and design in China’s northeast. It is divided into three research fields: city planning, city conservation and rejuvenescence, city development research. They relate mainly to city space structure and configure plan, conservation and rejuvenescence of city’s historical sectors, using the city land, city community environment planning, city environment cognition, urbanizaion and management of city rules and regulations. We attach great importance on research of comprehensive design conception and city space configure based on combination of using and function of the city lands, rejuvenescence and conservation research and plan based on the environmental cognition and the problems of the urbanization and orderliness of the development under the market economy.
In recent 10 years, the key teachers in the program have accumulate excellent experience in the discipline research and programs practice. All together, they published over 10 academic monographs, released more than 50 academic articles and accomplished 10 plus research programs for the province and ministry many of which bear the palms in the provincial and critical competitions. In the programs such as the national natural science fund, Sino-Japan cooperation, construction ministry etc, we have gain excellent results.
We attach great importance on the crossing disciplines as well as cultivation the students’entire knowledge structure. At present, the demand of persons with ability of city planning is great from the society. The graduates are involved in such fields as design on city planning, management and research etc.

The fine art major
The master degree program is one of the only two master degree programs of find art in the northeast of China. It is divided into two research fields: sculpture and mural.
We have high competent faculty, teaching management, program practice as well as management personnel. There are 5 high competent supervisors including 4 professors. The supervisors have gained great achievements in city sculptures, public art, public environment, decoration, visual communication and new media art etc.
Mural is one important component of the fine art. It combines the other major in the fine art such as Chinese painting, oil painting, print, sculpture, folk art and modern printing etc into an unique art form based on the occidental art history to show a strong vision in all the art forms.
