Through early childhood education, through the learning of languages and the conduct of cultural exchange, we help our children learn about themselves and the world around them. They are to be our role models of the 21st century.
We ensure the provision of a safe, healthy and positive environment for your child. Our adoption of modern and scientific methodology provides the foundation for your child’s life-long learning journey. We hope for each child to be healthy, cheerful, curious, investigative, sociable, confident and responsible.
We believe in nurturing each child holistically. The learning environment ought to be appropriate and the planned activies should involve children by encouraging them to be positive and to take initiative. Teachers plan activities according to the child’s interest and developmental stage. At HIK, we follow three basic principles:
Each child is unique with individual preferences and abilities. Learning should be child-centred.Teachers ought to respect the rights of the children and give them the dignity they deserve.
The environment plays a vital role in child development. Teachers planning a developmentally supportive activity ought to consider the child’s needs and abilities. The goal is for children to interact with the environment, building on their experiences, recognize their own meanings about themselves and the world around them.
Through learning experiences, children develop their own unique ways in expressing and presenting themselves verbally, or non-verbally. Teachers ought to encourage children to choose their preferred ways or through varied combination of ways to present or express themselves freely.
We have identified six main areas of development for our children:
Team Spirit
Understand and learn to interact with others, respect and love others and be happy with themselves.
Good Habits
Inculcate healthy and good hygiene habits. Learn to be independent and responsible
Sports and Health
Be active, healthy and strong
Discovery and Exploratory
Understand the environment, both the natural and man-made world, be curious to learn and explore
Aesthetics
Be exposed to multi cultures, discover and feel the beauty in life and learn to appreciate the beauty around them.
Creativity
Through the use of language or other non-verbal means, express and present themselves in imaginative and creative ways.
