In order to further develop the education of international students, Jiangsu Provincial government especially establishes "Jasmine Government Scholarship for International Students Studying in Jiangsu" for international students getting registered for degree education since the fall semester, 2010.
The Scholarship is used to subsidize those excellent foreign students to accept degree education at universities in Jiangsu province. Those who meet the requirements can directly apply to exact universities in Jiangsu province for the Scholarship.
APPLICATION PROCEDURES FOR THE JASMINE SCHOLARSHIP
The Jasmine Scholarship is set up to subsidize those excellent foreign students to accept degree education at Jiangsu University.
Eligibility of applying to Jiangsu University for scholarships:
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health;
2. Applicants are not studying in Chinese universities;
3. Education background and age limit;
-Applicants for bachelor degree studies must finish high school study and be under the age of 25.
-Applicants for master degree studies must have bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35.
-Applicants for Doctoral degree studies must have master’s degree and be under the age of 40.
Documents of applying to Jiangsu University for Scholarships:
1. Application Form of Scholarships.
2. Highest diploma (notarized photocopy). If applicants are university students or already employed, they shall also provide studying certificates or employment documents. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.
3. Transcripts (notarized photocopy). Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.
4. A study or research plan in Chinese or in English (no less than 1000 words) for PG students.
5. Two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English by professors or associate professors.
* All these application documents are not refundable, while all your original documents should bring together when you get registered.
Values of scholarship
-Postgraduate degree programs (30000 RMB per academic year)
-Undergraduate degree programs (20000 RMB per academic year)
Note:
1. Only the autumn intake can apply scholarships.
2. The Jasmine Scholarship cannot be used to cover tuition fees, accommodation, etc. scholarship winner has to pay all the required fees when you get registered, then your scholarship will be distributed as allowances every month.
3. If you want to take postgraduate programs, you have to submit not only all the required materials, but also your study plan (no less than 1000 words) in Chinese or English and at least two recommendation letters of your former supervisors or professors. The scholarship winners will be formally informed after their documents are thoroughly evaluated fair and square by a panel of relevant deans and professors. Their performances will be evaluated at the end of every academic year to decide whether to continue, those who violate regulations or laws will definitely be deprived of the scholarship next year.
