Brief Introduction
Nanjing Forest Police College(NFPC), is under the joint Commission of the State Forest Administration and Public Order Ministry. The College is the only one in China that has been assigned to educate future forest police and hold professional in-service training for current members of the forest police.
There are 4 centers which are affiliated with the college:
       ·   Police Officers Training Center of the State Forestry Administration,
       ·   Forest Fire Control Commanders Training Center,
       ·   Wild Animals’ Casualty Evidence Identification Center,
       ·   Forestry Professional Education Research Center. 
Location of the College:
The college is located in the ancient capital of Nanjing, covering an area of 80 hectares. It consists of three parts:
·         The Xianlin Campus which is located in the middle of Xianlin University Town, and encompasses beautiful, garden-styled and exquisite surroundings, buildings which are elegant, graceful and modern. This campus has up to date facilitates including an advanced library, a teaching building, a laboratory, a police physical training center, a swimming pool, a multiple-service building and sports fields, It is also an artificial intelligent campus the environment is conducive to learning.  
·         The Huayuan Road Campus, which is  located in the north foot of Zijin Mountain is also a training base for the nations in-service forest police and extension education
·         Dongshanqiao Teaching and Training Center. This is the main teaching and training center for auto and motor driving, pistol shooting , investigation tactics, forest criminal  investigation, forest fire fighting and so on.
College Information:
At present, NFPC has a student body of about 4,000, which includes full-time and correspondence students. There are over 4,000 in-service forest police trained annually. NFPC benefits not only from the contribution of respected scientists and professionals from provincial and national bodies but also from the talented scholars who are employed by the college. Of the College’s 305 faculty members, 5 are professors and 55 are associate professors. There are also 12 visiting professors.
In recent years, the NFPC has attached significance to academic research particularly in the following fields:
·         Community Policing, Public Security 
·         Forest Criminal case Investigation
·         Information Communication Investigation
·         Wild Animals’ Casualty Evidence Identification
·         Implementation of Forest Laws and Regulations and Forest Crimes 
·         Forest Fire Dynamics Simulation System
·         Forest Fire Audit

In addition, there is also a discipline of Public order for correspondence students. 
Features and Objectives
Forest police is one important component of the State Forest Administration and Public Order Ministry. Its specific responsibility is to protect the forest, wild plants, animals, the ecosystem and maintaining public order. Hence, the main objective of the college is to cultivate the education of full-time higher learning students as well as the professional in-service training of forest police and adult education. It is able to do this through a multi-level and diversified teaching pattern. The college has a fine school tradition of meeting the needs and development of forest police, the protection of forest resources and the maintenance of the ecosystem. NFPC through its teaching policy is able to provide creative and high-quality forest police. As part of this policy, NFPC takes an active part in domestic and overseas academic exchanges and cooperation in order to open up channels for academic research and to attract more intellectuals. In addition, it is the desire of the College to learn more about the development of laws and regulations of forest management and forest resources protection at home and abroad. Moreover, the College wishes to learn more about advanced disciplines and theories and promote the development of teaching and scientific research. The college also recognizes the importance of learning from the experience of other police training schools and centers both at home and abroad. Consequently it seeks to enhance the professional skills of its members and in the future offer programs for police officers from both china and overseas countries.
