The College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, which has a long history, is one of the core colleges in Nanjing University of Technology. Chemical Engineering of the college is one of the first batch of Chemical Engineering subject in China. The college has a first-class doctoral degree program in Chemical Engineering and Technology, a first-class master’s degree program in Chemistry, a post-doctoral studies center for Chemical Engineering and Technology, 5 doctoral degree programs, 5 master’s degree programs and 2 bachelor’s degree programs in Chemical Engineering and Technology and Chemistry. The college also possesses several laboratories and research centers.
The College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering has strong teacher resources. Currently there are 41 professors, 29 associate professors, 1 academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 22 doctor tutors and 22 master tutors. Among these teachers, 70% have got a doctor’s degree or above and 3 have got National Science Funds for Distinguished Young Scholar of China.
At present, the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering is undertaking a National “973” project, a national science funds project for Distinguished Young Scholar, and other 20 national key research projects such as national natural sciences fund projects, national key scientific and technological projects, national “863” projects and defense projects.
The college has been improving the hardware facilities and teaching and management mode so as to improve the quality of teaching. Over the past few years, the employment rate of the students in the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering has been ranked top.
