Descriptions:
Stanley Market - Lying at the south end of Hong Kong Island, the Stanley Market possesses beautiful beaches, including one of the 'Eight Scenes of Hong Kong', the East Bay of Stanley. It is said that when the sun rises every morning, rays of sunshine reflect on the water surface, forming a red pillar. That was why Stanley was given the Red Pillar as its Chinese name. Another saying is that there used to be many kapok trees with bright red flowers, so they looked like red pillars, thus the Red Pillar. However, its English name Stanley was given by the former Prime Minister of Britain, Lord Stanley.

Day 03Guangzhou

Today begins by visiting to Dr. Sun Yatsen's Memorial Hall in remembrance of Chinese revolutionist Dr. Sun Yat-sen; the Five-Ram Statue in Yuexiu Park, the Temple of Six Banyan Trees, the Qingping Market and the Shamian Island.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Descriptions:
Dr. Sun Yatsen's Memorial Hall - Located on the southern slope of the Yuexiu Hill, the Dr. Sun Yatsen's Memorial Hall was built in memory of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the pioneer of China's democratic revolution. The construction started in 1929 and finished in 1931, covering an area of 62,000 square meters (15 acres) and 52 meters (56.8 yards) high. The memorial hall is a spectacular octagon building, with strong national and folk features.

Yuexiu Park - The Yuexiu Park was built on the Yuexiu Hill. In the Ming Dynasty, there was only a Kwan-yin Hall built on the hill. Standing on the top of the hill, the beautiful scenery of Guangzhou will strike your eyes. In the park, there lies the ancient city wall, the emplacements, Zhongshan Memorial Monument, the Tomb of Wu Tingfang as well as the Five-Ram Sculpture.

Temple of the Six Banyan Trees - Having a profound history, the temple is a reputable ancient temple, as one of the four best Buddhist temples in Guangzhou. Constructed in 537, the temple was located on the Liurong Road. It is said that its name was given by the great poet of the Song Dynasty, Su Dongpo. With the Six Banyan Pagoda as the symbolic structure, the temple has verdant trees and is rich in the cultural relics. In 1997, it was officially appraised as one of the top ten attractions in Guangzhou.
