Measures for the Administration of AnhuiProvincial Government Scholarship for International Students
Chapter 1 General
Article 1 To attract more international students to come to studyin higher education institutes and do scientific research in Anhui province,and enhance foreign student’s education quality and promote their understandingof Anhui province and expend international repercussions of education in Anhuiprovince, Anhui Provincial Government has set Anhui Provincial GovernmentScholarship for international students.
Article 2 Anhui Provincial Government Scholarship forInternational Students (hereafter referred to as “Scholarship” is set up byAnhui provincial government and included into education department’s budget,and is in charge by Education Department of Anhui Province.
Article 3 The scholarship is given to international student whoare outstanding, good moral character and friendly to Anhui province.
Article 4 Scholarship will be reviewed once a year.
Chapter 2 ApplicationRange of Scholarship
Article 5 The scholarship is applicable to all Anhui province’higher education institutes enrolling international students.
Article 6 The scholarship is given to the foreign doctoral, masterdegree and bachelor degree students who have been studying or willing to studyin Anhui province (not including students given Chinese GovernmentScholarships).
Chapter 3 Rewarding Standard
Article 7 Rewarding Standard of Scholarship for internationalstudent is as below
1.Doctor degreestudents: RMB50000 per person per year
2.Master degreestudents: RMB30000 per person per year
3.Bachelor degreestudents: RMB20000 per person per year
Chapter 4 Application Requirements
Article 8 Applicants should be foreign citizen and friendly toChina and should have foreign passport and valid visas.
Article 9 Applicants must have corresponding Chinese languageproficiency and provide relevant proof, such as HSK certificate, Chineselanguage learning and examination proof and so on. For some English-instructedprograms, the requirement can be appropriately relaxed.
Article 10 Applicants should meet the following additionalrequirements
1.Undergraduatescholarship applicants should be within the average age of 28 years old andshould have obtained degree that equals to Chinese High School degree or above
2.Master’s degreescholarship applicants should be within the average age of 40 years old andhave obtained bachelor degree and two professors’ recommendation letters
3.Doctorate scholarshipapplicants should be within the average of 40 years old and have obtainedmaster’s degree and two professors or associate professors’ recommendationletters
Article 11 Application should be well-behaved and have goodacademic results, in campus, have never break school rules and disciplines suchunexplained absences; and outside campus, have never break Chinese laws andregulations.
Chapter 5 Scholarship Application and Evaluation
Article 12 Quota of the scholarship is allocated by EducationDepartment of Anhui province to all higher education institutes enrollinginternational students before the end of November of the previous yearaccording to conditions of student enrollment every year
Article 13 All higher education institutes enroll internationalstudents according to the quota allocated and requirements in Chapter 4, ororganize qualified current students to apply for. All higher educationinstitutes must report the admission lists to provincial Education Departmentbefore middle June.
Article 14 Education Department organize experts to conduct scholarshipevaluation as required and inform all institutes of the result on late June.
Article 15 The Education Department appropriates the funds torelevant higher education institutes according to actual number of scholarshipwinners who have entered the institutes, and the institutes award thescholarship to scholarship students.
Article 16 For scholarship students who have serious illegalbehavior, the higher education institutes shall report to Education Departmentto cancel the students’ scholarship.
Article 17 All higher education institutes shall carefully examinethe academic records, behavior and law-abiding of degree students who wonscholarship to decide the scholarship awarding of the next year. Theexamination result should be reported to Education Department of Anhui Provincein written form before end of May.
Article 18 The following documents are required for scholarshipapplication
1.Anhui ProvincialGovernment Scholarship Application Form
2.Copy of Passport
3.HighestQualification and Diploma (eg: graduation certificate)
4.Transcript andbehavior statement
5.OriginalRecommendation Letters
Chapter 6 Others
Article 19 All higher education institutes formulatecorresponding evaluation and administration measures in accordance with thesemeasures.
Article 20 The measures come into force onSept. 2013.
Article 21 The measures shall be explained by Foreign Affair Office of EducationDepartment of Anhui Province.
