Why competitive
Each class has no fewer than 12 students. Exchange students may take courses of this program for one academic year. Language requirements for exchange students are the same as those for full-time students.
Entry requirements
1.College Certificate Program
Applicant should be a senior high school graduate or with equivalent schooling in the age bracket of 18-50.
2.B.A. Program
Applicant should be a senior high school graduate or with equivalent schooling in the age bracket of 18-50,with an HSK certificate (level 3 or above).
NOTES:
Applicants for B.A. Program of Chinese Language and Chinese Culture must submit a photocopy of HSK Certificate--Level 3 (Elementary or Intermediate) or higher. Those who have basic knowledge of Chinese language without any HSK certificate should take the HSK test at BLCU. Only qualified students can be admitted as B.A. students. Those who fail the test shall be enrolled as language students to study in a foundation class for half a year. After they finish the half year of study and pass HSK Level 3, they can further their studies as B.A. students. HSK test applicants need to submit three passport photos along with other required documents. The test fee is RMB 250.
Applicants for B.A. programs in which they will attend classes together with Chinese students need to submit a copy of an HSK Level 6 (or above) certificate.
Chinese Government Scholarship students and Exchange students need to follow the guidelines prescribed in the relevant regulations or agreement.
3.M.A. Program
Applicant should be under 40 years old and have acquired a Bachelor's degree or evidence of its equivalent. And an HSK Level 6 certificate is a prerequisite.
4.Ph.D. Program
Applicant should be under 45 years old, and have a Master's degree or equivalent, and two recommendation letters from his/her advisors (full or associate professors), an HSK Level 9 certificate (C level or above for advanced learner).
5.Advanced Visiting Scholar Program
The applicant should be under 50 years old and have a Master's degree or equivalent, with the goal of pursuing further research in a specialized subject.
6.Refresher Program (1 or 2 years)
The applicant should have finished at least two years of university education or equivalent schooling and be in the age bracket of 18-50.
7.Language Learners Program
The applicant should be a senior high school graduate in the age bracket of 18-50.
8.Short Term Refresher Program
The applicant should be a senior high school graduate in the age bracket of 18-60.
9.Teachers Training Program
The applicant should have a B.A. degree, and be currently teaching or intending to teach Chinese as a second language.
All applicants should be healthy so as to pursue their study in the university. A copy of applicant's academic credentials should be submitted.
Program Objective
Providedwith the distinguishing multi-lingual and multi-cultural environment in BLCU,students of this program will undergo four years’ systematic education underthe guidance of IBS’s characteristic “Specialty plus English” principle. We aimto educate students to become highly skilled in English, besides havingsufficient knowledge about economics, management and law, being familiar withthe current trends and practice of international business and trade, knowingabout the economic condition and relevant policies and regulations of China’smain target countries of business and trade. Students are expected to becapable of working with department of foreign economics and trades, foreignenterprises and government agencies, or taking other jobs engaged ininternational trade and international operations and management activities.They can also choose to lead an academic career promoting the study of internationa ltrade policy. In sum, our goal of education is to foster businesstalents with internationalized mindsets, ofmultiple strengths, and applicable to the current international businessand trade field.
How to apply
1. Non-scholarship Students:
1) Applicants can download the application form or acquire one at the Admission Office for Foreign Students. The completed form (completed in English or Chinese) should be submitted at least two months before the start of the program to the Admission Office together with the required documents and the application fee (in cash if submitted in person or a photocopy of the telegraphic transfer receipt).
2) After reviewing the application and relevant materials, the Admission Office will send the Admission Notice and JW202 Visa Application Form to qualified applicants in two months' time by registered airmail. Students can apply for a student visa at the Chinese Embassy or consulate in their country with these documents. Applicants who study for no more than six months' duration are expected to apply for an F visa. Those who study for longer duration (one year or more) must apply for an X visa to enter China. Bearers of other types of visa will not be allowed to register.
2. Chinese Government Scholarship Students
Chinese government scholarship students should follow the guidelines provided in the relevant agreement between China and their respective countries.
