Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (CDUTCM), one of the four earliest established TCM universities in China, was founded in 1956. It was recognized as a provincial key university in 1985. In 1995, it was approved by the Committee of the National Education Department to change the name into CDUTCM.
The University has a comprehensive higher education levels and a good variety of courses, including the leading courses---Chinese medicine and the engineering, management, literature and agricultural courses, etc. It has a field of 130 hectares and over 50 majors. It aims to foster the high quality TCM talents, the specialties covering the clinical practice of Chinese medicine, Chinese pharmacy, pharmaceutical engineering, nursing, management, marketing, Tibetan medicine and so on. It is a state TCM base for education-research-medicine.
