1. Chinese Government Scholarship Special Program for University Postgraduate Study
This scholarship is set up by the Ministry of Education, China in order to attract more outstanding Master’s and Doctoral students from renowned universities globally and build up a group of first-class universities in the world. HUST is one of the few high ranking Chinese universities listed under this program.
This is a full scholarship covering a student’s tuition fee, accommodation fee on campus, comprehensive medical insurance and living stipend (As for the living stipend, 1,700RMB per month will be provided for master candidates, and 2,000RMB per month for doctoral candidate, which is sufficient to live a comfortable and easy life in China).

2. Chinese Government Scholarship Special Program for ASEAN Senior Administrators
This scholarship is set up by the Ministry of Education, China in order to attract more Government Officials, University Officers and Other Institutional Senior Administrators from ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations). HUST is the only university listed under this program for its high quality education and great influence on Public Administration.
This is a full scholarship covering a student’s tuition fee, accommodation fee on campus, comprehensive medical insurance and living stipend (As for the living stipend, 1,700RMB per month will be provided for master candidates, and 2,000RMB per month for doctoral candidate, which is sufficient to live a comfortable and easy life in China).

3. Chinese Government Special Scholarship Program for Sino-US Cultural Communication
In order to conform to the increasing trend of American students’ studying in China, support the US government’s aim at putting forward Obama’s 100,000 Strong Initiative Program, and reinforce Sino-US communication and cooperation in academic research among universities, Chinese Government has set up the special program facing all the American undergraduates, graduates and postgraduates to attract more outstanding American students to study in China. HUST would conduct autonomous recruitment in accordance with this Scholarship Program.
Available for Applicants
(1) Full scholarship for Master’s and Doctoral Degree students
(2) Partial Scholarship for Credit students
It provides for students whose credits can be admitted by the US meanwhile he or she should study in China for 3 months or above. This scholarship aims at establishing the inter-university exchange programs for mutual admission of credits and promoting the existing programs. It is partial scholarship (only covering tuition fee) which is provided for 3 months or above.

It is established by MOE in accordance with educational exchange agreements or MOUs signed between Chinese government and governments of other countries, organizations, education institutions and relevant international organizations to provide both full scholarships and partial scholarships to international students and scholars.
