One of the area’s top ski resorts. Nanshan has ten well-groomed trails for skiers of all levels and a snowboard park (Nanshan Mellow Park) with a halfpipe, four kickers and six rails-are served by a quadruple chairlife, a double chairlift and nine T-bars.

With Beijing’s longest trails, a snowboard park and a good snowboard shop, Shijinglong is one of the areas’ most popular resorts. Recent additons include a new intermediate run, two new lifts and a widened advance run as wekk as a beginner trail.

Badaling has two 800m long ski runs and a 2,300m snowmobile run. It also has sledding runs and a ski lodge with accommodation, food and drinks, stores and a gym. Any kid over 3 is welcome to take a shot at the slopes! RMB 220 (weekdays), RMB 260 (weekends).

The grandly-named Snow World, located mear Ming Tombs, is a mere 30 minutes by car from downtown Beijing. It has only two ski runs – one for advanced and one for intermedia skiers.

Located in Jiugukou, Huaibei boasts one advanced, tow intermediate, three beginner trails and a 1,200m long cable car ride. Other features include a grass run (for summer) and night skiing. Free shuttle bus from Dongzhimen.

Jundushan features seven ski trails serviced by a two-person chairlift and a T-bar lift. It is lopcated 34km from the city and covers an area of nearly 330 acres. It southern exposure means the snow can get slushy. Sleds, inner tubes, and snowmobiles are availabe for rent.

Surrounded by mountains in three directions, Yunfoshan has two advanced runs, three intermediate runs, four beginner runs and a 1,500m cross-county route for snowmobiles. It also offers horse and dogsled rides.

Proximity to the city (89km) is one of Jindinghu’s biggest draws. On arrival, you’ll find intermediate and novice runs as well as a beginners’ slope. Those wishing to extend their stay can spend the night at one of 20 villas built along the Jinding lake.

The first and only indoor ski resort in Beijing, Qiaobo has a 150m bunny slope and a 260m long slope. Great place to cool off from the summer heat. Experienced skiers should keep their expectations low.
