The 2013 competition policy forum was held in UIBE

The competition policy forum was held from July 31st to Aug 1st. Hosted by the State Council Counter-monopoly Committee expert advisory group and UIBE counter-monopoly, the forum discussed issues in competitive policy.


Secretary of State Council Counter-monopoly Committee, Wang Chao, vice director of National industry and commerce bureau, Sun Hongzhi, vice president of People's Bank of China, Liu Shiyu, monitor of State Council counter-monopoly committee expert advisory group , Zhang Qiong, researcher of Council Development Research Center, Wu Jinglian, Chairman of School Council, Wang Ling attended the forum. Experts from law, enterprise and economics communicated and exchanged ideas in the forum.
 


Wang Ling said, counter-monopoly is the basis for economic development; economic entities grow in a fair market. It leads to chances of innovation bloom and increased productivity. International counter-monopoly is a common task that every government and enterprise should take. The forum is of great significance for every expert here, enabling us to tackle issues one by one. Wang Chao, Sun Hongzhi, Liu Shiyu and Zhang Qiong made reports respectively. Huang Yong from UIBE hosted the forum.



 

Xu Kunlin from the State Development and Reform Commission price control inspection and counter-monopoly bureau, Shang Ming from the Ministry of Commerce, Ren Airong from the National industry and commerce bureau counter-monopoly and counter-unfair competition law enforcement bureau, Wu Jinglian from the Council Development Research Center, and Prof. Huang Yong from UIBE interacted with representatives from different fields. Prof. Huangyong gave his final comments on counter-monopoly law with, "everyone need to know this law and to know what benefits it could bring to citizens, enterprises and government."

It is estimated that more than 400 people attended the forum from well-known universities such as George Washington University, Oxford University, the Empire University of Science and Technology, Peking University, Tsinghua University, etc. Besides exchanging ideas on the first day, the forum discussed "operators in examination issues" and "Intellectual property rights and counter-monololy" in the morning and shared experiences on academic cooperation.
