American International School of Wuxi is a private, non-profit, co-educational international school serving children of overseas families living in Wuxi and neighboring areas. We are committed to providing our students with a strong and challenging international education, one that includes not only an academically demanding program, but also recognizes and teaches to the whole child.
AISW has been open since August of 2006, and includes the primary grades of 1 through 5. The school will continue to grow into the secondary education of Grade 6 to Grade 12 in subsequent years. The school will seek the accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) for the Primary Years Program (PYP).
AISW will be a member of the East Asian Regional Council of Overseas Schools (EARCOS), and the Association of China and Mongolia International Schools (ACAMIS).
Location
American International School of Wuxi is located in Meiyuan, suburb district of Wuxi, Jiangsu Province . Wuxi has the Yangtze River to its north, and the Taihu Lake to its south. It is about 42 kilometers from Suzhou, 128 kilometers from Shanghai and 183 kilometers from Nanjing. It is easily accessible by car and train. Domestic flights are available from Beijing, Chengdu, Kunming, Wuhan, Chongqing, Xiamen, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
The 4000 sq m. school building occupies a central position on the 620-acres Wuxi Guanghua Private School ground. The school's four floors house the elementary as well as the future secondary divisions, including a library, computer labs, multi-purpose project areas, music and dance room and a patio playground. Our students will also have access to several shared facilities, which include an indoor gymnasium, a cafeteria, a multi-media center, tennis courts and an auditorium. AISW also offers a boarding option.
