Along the river valley, you are drifting through a natural cultural “gallery”: there is the “plank road” built by ancient Chinese people along the sharp cliffs surface high above the roaring waters. The great modern project: the Yangtze River Dam and of course, the marvelous Three Gorges scenery are the highlights of the tour.
Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 Shanghai
On arrival, CITS guide will meet you at the airport and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax. You could take a walk along the famous waterfront, the Bund, to fully appreciate this diverse city.
Day 2 Shanghai to Suzhou (B+L)
Morning: Transfer to take the train to Suzhou. Meet the guide and begin you tour with visiting the Humble Administrator's Garden, which is followed by a trip to Silk Reeling Factory.
Afternoon: Visit the Tiger Hill, which can be traced back to the founding of Suzhou. Transfer to the hotel in Suzhou.
Day 3 Suzhou to Shanghai (B+L)
Morning: Take the train back to Shanghai. Meet the guide and transfer to the hotel in Shanghai. Explore the Jade Buddha Temple where two rare jade statues of Sakyamuni Buddha are treasured.
Afternoon: Visit the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, which is the tallest TV tower in Asia and the 3rd tallest in the world. Continue to the Yu Garden, which is a famous Chinese classic garden.
Day 4 Shanghai to Chongqing (B+L+D)
Morning: Transfer to take the flight to Chongqing.
Afternoon: Visit the ancient village of Ci Qi Kou (Porcelain Village) which is well-protected cultural site. You will be transferred to the port where you will board the Cruiser for your Pre-cruise night.
Day 5 Cruise (B+L+D)
After breakfast have a shore excursion to Shibaozhai- a gem of Chinese architecture. Then go back to the cruiser and enjoy the splendid view of the Gorges.
Day 6 Cruise (B+L+D)
Today you will witness some of the most fascinating sights in all of China. Enjoy a shore excursion at Shennong Stream. You will continue cruising through the Wu Gorge and the west part of Xiling Gorges.
Day 7 Yichang to Beijing (B+L)
Morning: Pass the east part of Xiling Gorge, which is famous for its strangely shaped cliff faces. Have a shore excursion at the Three Gorges Dam Project. The cruiser will arrive into Yichang port at about 13:00.
Afternoon: Meet the guide and visit Yichang Museum, the exhibition of cultural relics at the Three Gorges. Then transfer to the airport for flight to Beijing. Meet the guide and transfer to the hotel in Beijing.
Day 8 Beijing (B+L)
Morning: Take a half-day tour to the Forbidden City that 24 emperors lived and ruled for over 500 years. The South Gate leads you to Tian'anmen Square- the biggest central square in the world.
Afternoon: Explore the Temple of Heaven, where ancient emperor worshipped God and prayed for harvest. Continue to Visit the famous imperial garden- Summer Palace.
Day 9 Beijing (B+L)
Morning: You will take a half-day guided visit to the awesome Great Wall of China.
Afternoon: Continue to the Ming Tomb, the mausoleums of Emperors of the Ming Dynasty.
Day 10 Beijing (B)
Transfer to take the departure flight, or alternatively extend your stay.
