Fanjing Mountain
As the highest mountain of the Wuyi Mountains, Fanjing Mountain, located at the joint of the three counties of Jiangkou, Songtao and yinjiang, is a national nature reserve in East Guizhou. There are tens of brooks between the ridges of this mountain that is covered with well-preserved semi-tropical forests. This mountain is not only beautiful but also a Buddhist halidome.
Included on UNESCO's "Man and Biosphere" list, it is a typical area with fairly complete protection of the subtropical biological system. This prime area has nearly 3,000 specimens of plants, in which many precious trees are widespread. It also has 11 spices of rare and precious animals under state protection and its some 100 Guizhou Golden Monkeys are the only remaining ones in the world now. The natural scenery on Fanjing Mountain is of the same time spectacular, dangerous, pretty, strange and secluded.
With an annual temperature about 5 -7 and the annual precipitation of 2,600 mm, Fanjing Mountain is in the alpine monsoon climate of mid sub-tropic zone. It's neither cold in the winter nor hot in summer.

With the high terrain and temperature, low and short forests are formed in a certain part of the top of the mountain, such as azaleas and Chinese ilexes. One of a rare species is the dove tree. The white blossoms of the tree like the white dove, hence it got the name. What's more, it is also a famous Buddhist mountain with many Buddhist shrines, temples and steles.

Fanjing Culture
On the foot of Fanjing Mountain, many ethnic groups live here, such as the Tujia, Miao, Dong, Han, Qiang nationalities, etc. you can enjoy the colorful ethnic customs. One of the most commendable is the art of calligraphy. Yinjiang is just a small county, while it is called the cradle of calligraphers, for the most prominent representative Yan Yanliang, who wrote the "Summer Palace", was born here. Besides, you can enjoy the greatest contemporary calligraphers’ works in stone tablets forest.
Here is also a mountain full of revolutionary traditions. During the period of Second Revolutionary Civil War of China, the first red base on Guizhou Plateau, created by Helong and other revolutionaries of the older generation in 1934, stood on the foot of Fanjing Mountain.
