Welcome to Residence of Ma Bufang
The Residence of Ma Bufang lies in Wemin Lane in Chengdong District of Xining City. Established in June 1942 and finished in the same month next year, it used to be the private residence of Ma Bufang, the top general of nationalist forces in Republic Period.
The Residence of Ma Bufang covers an area of 29,550 square kilometers. Most buildings inside stand all around in their corresponding space, forming several individual while connected yards. The residence totally has 290 houses, which lie in 7 yards respectly, namely Front Yard, Middle Yard, South Yard, West No.1 Yard, West No. 2 Yard, West No. 3 Yard and back garden. The yards are deftly designed and the buildings show simplicity and elegance. The residence if Ma Bufang was also called “Jade Residence” by ancient people, for many of its walls are beset by jade, which possess high value of the historic relics.
There are many famous flowers and trees planted in the garden southward the residence, besides those, pavilions and the well-known “Dawn Spring” can also be seen here. The buildings, the yards and the garden in the Residence of Ma Bufang reflected certain national characters and Chinese art.
