Philosophy Department of Anhui University was set up in 1928 as a branch of philosophy of education. In 1958 when the reconstruction of the political science department was established, the department of philosophy was formed. Original in 1980, the merger and teacher strength of Anhui University Philosophy Department were greatly increased.
The current Head of the Department is Professor Li Xia, Professor Wang Guoliang, deputy director and Professor is Zhang Nengwei. At present there are two undergraduate professionals, six master's points, a doctor and a provincial-level key disciplines, a province of the humanities and social sciences key research base, five research institutions.
The entire grade has 42 faculty members, of whom 12 were professors, 12 associate professors, and doctor and doctor at readers of 11 people, provincial cross-century academic leaders 2 people, provincial and field grade teachers in 10 middle-aged and the backbones are most young teachers. Undergraduate school includes 400 people, 161 people at graduate school, adult education students 560 people. The main courses are Chinese philosophy, foreign philosophy, Marxist philosophy, science and technology, philosophy, aesthetics, psychology, Integrated Teaching and Research Department, etc.
The equipments of the school also developed fast these years. There are administrative offices, adult education office, library, reading room and so on. What is more, there are Chinese and foreign books more than 5000 books, newspapers and periodicals in foreign languages more than 300 species.

Entry requirements
Applicants must hold equivalent degrees with good results, in good health and aged 18 or above. The applicants who require to learn the courses taught in Chinese should get HSK-6 or above.
