The Department of Sociology of Anhui University was established in June, 1996. Currently it covers 5 teaching and research sections including Sociology, History of Sociology, Social Work, Pedology and Applied Sociology, and 4 institutes. Meanwhile, it covers 2 programs for Bachelor’s degree of Sociology, Social Work, and 4 programs for Master’s degree, including Sociology, Pedology, Humanities and Folklore.
At present, it owns a number of 35 faculties among whom there are 28 teachers and researchers, including 5 professors, 11 associate professors, 15 lecturers, 1 assistant teacher. The total number of Doctoral degree is 14. Moreover, there are 11 domestic or international part-time professors. By recent years, it has undertaken a large number of international cooperated projects, national research projects, projects on provincial level and so on. What’s more, it has published over 260 scientific research papers and 23 monographs. It also makes great achievements in various fields and wins a lot of awards of national projects or projects of Anhui Province.
The Department attaches great importance to international exchange and cooperation. It increasingly inputs resources in research and enhances academic exchanges. Those efforts have resulted in a series of high quality research achievements, which have greatly strengthened the overall research ability and laid a solid foundation for further academic development.

Application time
For Degree applicants, the duration for application is from October every year to June next year. The academic year begins in September.
Entry requirements
For Bachelor’s degree: the applicants should have senior high school diploma, academic records, health certificate and HSK4 certificate.
For Master’s degree: the applicants should have Bachelor’s degree, recommended by two associate professors or above, academic records, health certificate and HSK4 certificate.
For Doctoral degree:the applicants should have Master’s degree, academic records, recommended by two associate professors or above, health certificate and HSK4 certificate.
