Day 1 Beijing
On arrival, CITS guide will hold a welcome sign to meet you. You will be transferred to the hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax.
Day 2 Beijing
Take a half-day excursion to explore the incredible Forbidden City with its grand palaces and courtyards. Built in 1420, it was here that 24 emperors lived and ruled for over 500 years. The South Gate leads you to Tian'anmen Square - the biggest of its kind in the world. In the afternoon continue to the beautiful Summer Palace where you can discover gardens, palaces and pavilions with temples and halls in a tranquil, landscaped lakeside setting. (B/L)
Day 3 Beijing
You will take a half-day guided visit to the awesome Great Wall of China. Here you can enjoy the stunning views as you stroll along this seemingly endless piece of history, which winds its way into the far distance. In the afternoon, continue to the Ming Tomb, which due to their enormity took over 200 years to complete. Dinner is served at the original, century-old Quanjude Roasted Duck Restaurant. After dinner you will enjoy a fascinating Peking Opera Show at the Liyuan Theatre. (B/L/D)
Day 4 Beijing to Datong
Take an aftertoon train to Datong. (B)
Day 5 Datong
Have a visit of Yungang Grottoes, the oldest one of the three major cave clusters in China, which was built in the Northern Wei Dynasty. Yungang Grotto is also one of the world heritages.
In the afternoon, visit the marvellous and incredible Hanging Monastery. The Hanging Monastery on the cliff was bulit more than 1500 years ago and it combines different religions. The Wooden Pagoda, located in Yingxian County, is the oldest and highest wooden structure in China. The Wooden Pagoda is now under good protection. (B/L)
Day 6 Datong to Taiyuan
Taking a train to Taiyuan, pick up at the railway station and have a view of the Twin-Pagoda Temple, a symbol of Taiyuan on account of its unique architecture. (B/L)
Day 7 Taiyuan to Pingyao
The coach will take you to the Qiao’s Grand Courtyard, which is a yard for the business man in Ming dynasty. In the afternoon drive to Pingyao. (B+/L)
Day 8 Pingyao to Taiyuan
Today just have an overall view of Pingyao Ancient City. Being one of the four wholly-protected ancient cities in China, Pingyao Ancient City is thought of as the 'treasure house' of ancient Chinese architectures. You will pass through the ancient town and take a walk along the street to fully appreciate the atmosphere of the city. You can also take some local snacks such as Pingyao Beef that has been well-known from the Ming Dynasty. Drive back to Taiyuan. (B/L)
Day 9 Taiyuan to Xi'an
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Xi'an, China's ancient capital. Upon arrival have a city tour of the City Wall that still compasses the center of Xi'an. City tour also includes the Shanxi History Museum where you will discover how Xi'an became the cradle of Chinese culture. (B/L)
Day 10 Xi'an
Visit the world-famous Terra cotta Warriors where life-sized infantrymen, archer, officers and their horses symbolically guard the tomb of the first Qin emperor. In the afternoon, visit the dramatic Wild Goose Pagoda. After dinner, you will be entertained with the marvelous Tang Dynasty Show. (B/L)
Day 11 Xi'an to Beijing
Take a flight back to Beijing and end the fabulous trip in China. (B)
