Itinerary
Day 1 Lhasa
Arrive at Lhasa. When you arrive to this "City of Sunlight", you’ll find you have arrived in another world of clouds, mountains and color. Lhasa is the heart of the Buddhists. Hidden away amongst the mightiest mountain range in this world are the Himalayas. Your local guide and driver will meet you and take you to your hotel. The rest of the day is on your own, to explore this city and determine the pulse of a constantly changing Tibet.

Day 2 Lhasa
Today you will be able to visit the Potala Palace, an architectural wonder dominating the Lhasa skyline. It is the most visible of all of the city’s sight. You can imagine life centuries ago in this theocratic sanctuary. After lunch, you will be able to visit the Jokhang Temple, one of Tibet’s holiest temples. If lucky, you can see long streams of pious Tibetan pilgrims walking clockwise in Barkhor, spinning their prayer wheels or performing full prostrations as they circle the temple.
The rest of the day is for you to go around the Barkhor Square, like a Tibetan market, to see all the various peoples and goods makes for a collage of colors.

Day 3 Lhasa
Today you will first visit Sera Monastery, the largest living temple here with 700 monks. Then you will visit Drepung Monastery, served as a training center for young monks. A short climb is rewarded with a landscape view of Lhasa and the expansive mountains that ring the city. Hear you will see the sky stretching from the tallest mountains to the heavens. Norbu Lingka was constructed as a summer palaces for the Dalai Lama. This once forbidden palace is ideal for quiet strolls and lazy afternoons.

Day 4 Lhasa/Shigatse
Today 4 hours driving will take you to Shigatse, the second largest city in Tibet. On the way you will be able to have several photo stops at Holly Lake and Karola Glacier. Shigatse has an old Tibetan part, where people live their lives like they have been doing for the past hundreds of years.
After lunch, you will be able to visit the Tashilhunpo monastery, which is the official residence of the Panchen Lama. The most magnificent part of the Monastery is the Kelsang Temple in the northeast area of the compound. There, you’ll find enough chapels, statues and murals to keep you enthralled for several trips.

Day 5 Shigatse/Lhasa
You will take another 4 hours’ driving back to Lhasa. Enjoy the grassland view on the way. You will also have the opportunity to visit a local family, and see their daily life. When chatting with the host, you may enjoy a cup of butter tea made by the hospitable housewife. After lunch, a free afternoon is available for you to explore more of Lhasa and shop for some souvenirs.

Day 6 Departure
Your local guide will take you to the highest airport in the world and leave this holy city.
