College of Law and Politics, Hebei Normal University was founded in 1960. Its former was Department of Politics. This college has two departments--- department of ideological and political education, department of law. And it offers two undergraduate programs--- ideological and political education, law.
Currently, College of Law and Politics has 91 teaching and administrative staffs. Of the 76 full-time teachers, 16 are professors and 29 are associate professors. Among the teachers, 12 are doctoral tutors, 23 are master’s tutors, 16 are masters, 15 are doctoral degree candidates and over 80% of the teachers have master’s degree or above. Besides, one teacher has been chosen as the national outstanding teacher, 2 have won the Tsang Hin Chi educational endowment prize, 6 are academic leaders, etc.
Now, College of Law and Politics offers 3 doctoral programs--- basic principle of Marxism, research on ideological and political education, Chinese Marxism. It also offers 2 doctoral degrees of first-class discipline--- theory of Marxism (including 5 postgraduate programs) and political science (including 7 postgraduate programs). Besides, it offers other 5 postgraduate programs--- ethnics, curriculum and teaching methodology, scientific philosophy, constitutional law, administrative law.
In recent five years, the teachers of this college have undertaken 4 state social sciences research projects and 38 scientific research projects at provincial and ministerial level. Besides, they have published over 30 academic monographs and over 160 academic theses, of which, nearly 20 have won award at provincial and ministerial level or above. In addition, they have edited or participated in the compilation of 9 state-compiled textbook of the ministry of education.
There are now 285 full-time graduate students, 253 on-job graduate students and 1,553 full-time undergraduate and junior college students and over 2,000 continuing education students at this college.
College of Law and Politics has a 5,000 square meters’ new-built teaching building, many multi-media classrooms, one moot court and one reference room. The reference room has 120,000 Chinese and foreign languages’ books and over 280 kinds of Chinese and foreign languages’ periodicals.

Entry requirements
For Bachelor’s degree: Applicants must be under the age of 35 years, and in good physical condition, holding a non-China passport and having graduated from high school, academic records, have an HSK test score of grade 3 or above.
For Master’s degree: Applicants must be under 40 of age and in good physical condition, holding a non-China passport and a Bachelor’s degree, have 2 letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors, have an HSK test score of level 5 or above.
For Doctoral degree:Applicants must be in good physical condition and under 45 of age in principle, holding a non-China passport and a Master’s degree, have an HSK test score of level 5 or above, have 2 letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors, academic records.
