Nanjing Normal University was home to the teaching section of law in 1986 which belonged to the Department of Political Education. In order to make adjustment to the development of law discipline, it was established in March, 200l after separating from the School of Economics & Law & Politics.
Currently, it covers 7 teaching and research sections including Legal Theories, Constitutional & Administrative Law, Civil & Commercial Law, Criminal Law, Economic Law, Procedural Law, and International Law, and 6 institutes and other offices and administrative supporting departments. The faculty in the school has a strong capacity of teaching and research, a high education level, and a balanced combination and age structure of its members. It covers a number of 69 faculty members. Among them there are 52 teachers, including 21 full professors, and 16 associate professors. It covers 15 doctoral supervisors and 31 master supervisors. Most of them have made great contributions in research activities and won a high reputation.
The School has formed a style of study, focusing on educational practice, and a school spirit of ‘preciseness, plain, push and dedication’. It has cultivated a considerable number of students since its establishment. Most of them have worked in courts, institutes, education field, and administrative officials and even a lot of enterprises. The School attaches great importance to academic exchange domestically and internationally. Every year it sends a number of high-qualified teachers and students abroad for academic exchange, research exchange, while a great number of international scholar and professors have a visit to the school and teach or speech here. It has a close relationship with many domestic and international law schools, institutions and enterprises which have great influence in the academic world.

Application time
For Bachelor’s degree, the duration for application is from March 15 to May 30 every year.
For Master’s and Doctoral degree, the time for application is the same as Bachelor’s degree.
Entry requirements
For Bachelor’s degree: Applicants must be 18 years or older and in good health. The applicants must provide a high school certificate, a high school transcript, a HSK certificate in level four and above, a photocopy of their passport as well as 4 1" photograph.
For Master’s degree: Applicants must be 22 years or older and in good health. The applicants must provide a notarized certificate of their Bachelor's degree, a University transcript, and a HSK certificate in level six and above, two reference letters from professors or scholars with a high academic title and a photocopy of their passport as well as 4 1" photograph.
For Doctoral degree: Applicants must be 22 years or older and in good health. The applicants must provide an notarized certificate of their Master's degree, a University transcript, and a HSK certificate in level six and above, two reference letters from professors or scholars with a high academic title and a photocopy of their passport as well as 4 1" photograph.
