The College of Humanities & Law of Northeastern University was established in 1929. The College provides research creativity bases for Ministry of Education and “985 Projects” and is regarded as the key research base of Humanities & Social Science of high education in the universities of Liaoning Province.
At present, it covers 10 authorized doctoral stations, 32 authorized master stations, 4 programs for Master degree including MPA, Teaching Technology Philosophy of Advanced Universities, Administrative Management of Advanced Universities, and Marxism Theory of Advanced Universities, and 6 programs for Bachelor’s degree including MPA, Administrative Management, Law, Ideological & Political Education, Economics, and Journalism. There are 1 first-level doctoral stations, 5 second-level doctoral stations, 5 first-level master stations and 6 second-level master stations.
Currently, it covers a number of 118 high-qualified faculties. And the basic academic organization consists of 8 research centers, 13 institutes and 6 majors. Since its establishment in 1993, it has cultivated a great number of over 3000 students, including over 800 undergraduate students, 881 postgraduate students and 113 doctoral students. What’s more, the faculty of the College has undertaken more than 200 scientific research projects, including 4 projects of National Social Science Funds, 2 projects of National Natural Science Funds, 10 project of Education Ministry and 53 projects on provincial level. The total number of scientific research expenses reached RMB1,517,000 in 2005.
The library of the College owns 41246 volumes of books, 24 kinds of newspapers and 334 types of academic magazines which can tremendously meet the needs of teaching and learning. What’s more, the College attaches great importance on teaching and scientific research. Moreover, it puts great emphasize on establishing wide corporations and relationships with a lot of domestic and international universities in academic exchange, such as universities of the United States and Japan and so on.

Entry Requirements
Undergraduates:
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese nationals in good health.
2. Applicants must have completed senior high school with good grade and be under the age of 25.
3. The HSK result of applicants must be level 6 at least. Applicants with no command of Chinese are generally required to take Chinese language courses before their major studies.
4. Applicants must pass the entrance exam.
Master Candidates:
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese nationals in good health.
2. Applicants must have bachelors’ degree and be under the age of 35.
3. The HSK result of applicants must be level 6 at least. If applicants apply for liberal arts, their HSK result must be level 7 at least.
4. Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English by professors or associate professors.
5. Applicants must pass the entrance exam.
Doctor Candidates:
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese nationals in good health.
2. Applicants must have masters’ degree and be under the age of 40.
3. The HSK result of applicants must be level 6 at least. If the applicants apply for liberal arts, their HSK result must be level 7 at least.
4. Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English by professors or associate professors.
5. Applicants must pass the entrance exam.
