The Agronomy College has 8 departments, namely Department of Crop Cultivation and Farming System, Department of Plant Genetics and Breeding, Department of Special Botany Production, Department of Plant Physiology, Department of Plant Pathology, Department of Agricultural Insect and Pharmacology, Department of Biotechnology, Department of Ecological Agriculture and Regional Development, and 1 institute-lever education and experiment station.
 
The Agronomy College has set up 8 bachelor’s programs: Agronomy, Tobacco, Plant Science and Technology (Farm Chemical/Quarantine), Cultivation and Appraisal of Chinese Medical Herbs, Biotechnology, Seed Science and Engineering and Rural Regional Development. There is a post-doctoral center for Crop Science, first-class doctoral degree program in Crop Science, 8 second-class doctoral degree programs (Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Crop Cultivation and Farming System, Crop Genetic Breeding, etc), 13 master’s degree programs (Cell Biology, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Crop Cultivation and Farming System, Crop Genetic Breeding, Protection &Utilization of Plant Resources, etc).
 
For the past few years, the Agronomy College has developed a lot in scale. At present, it has 2,532 undergraduates and college students and 610 master and doctoral candidates. There are totally 79 faculty in the college, including 131 full-time/part-time teachers, 73 personnel of high title, 41 doctoral tutors, 2 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 3 national excellent advanced experts, etc.
 
The Agronomy College attaches importance to original innovation and social work. Since China’s reform and opening up to the outside world, the college has cultivated dozens of high-yielding and high-quality new crop varieties and obtained social and economic benefits of more than RMB 20 million. Moreover, the college has gained 113 national and provincial awards for its scientific achievements.
 
Length of Study
Undergraduate students: 4 years
Postgraduate students: 2-3 years
Doctoral students: 3-4 years
 
Application Time
For international students, the academic year begins in September. The duration for application is from March 1st to June 30th.
 
Entry Requirements
Bachelor’s degree: Be above 18 years old, senior high school graduate, HSK3 certificate or above, in good health.
 
Master’s degree: Have Bachelor’s degree or above, HSK4 certificate or above, academic score list, 2 recommended letters from two associate professors or above, in good health.
 
Doctoral degree: Have Master’s degree or above, HSK4 certificate or above, academic score list, 2 recommended letters from two associate professors or above, in good health.
