The College of Natural Resources and Environment of South China Agricultural University was found in 1996, on the basis of combination of the Department of Plant Protection and the Department of Territorial Resources and Environmental Science. At present, it covers 7 courses, 18 teaching and research sections, 5 teaching and research practicing bases in or outside the university.
The College is constantly focused on the disciplines construction and scientific research and it turns a large scale rapidly since its establishment. Now, it owns 2 first-class doctoral stations, 5 second-class doctoral stations, 7 master stations, one national key discipline, and one post-doctoral scientific research station, one key opening laboratory of Agricultural Institute and one key teaching laboratory of Guangdong Province. Moreover, it offers 4 specialties for Bachelor’s Degree. There are 1447 full-time students at school till September, 2003. Among them there are 1038 undergraduate students, 407 postgraduate students, 28 postgraduate students of Agriculture extension, 11 foreign students.
At present, it owns a group of excellent faculties of 143 members with 88 full-time teachers, 30 professors, 33 assistant professors and 25 lecturers. Among them there are 43 PhD Degrees, 38 Master Degrees which are 95% of the total faculties. Most of the alumni have become the leaderships of province, city or town, and the pace-setters or enormous assets of academic fields who are immensely contribute to the society. Since 1995, the College has won national projects for more than 500 ones, complied 36 academic papers and published over 800 papers. What’s more, it wins a high reputation in domestic and international universities and becomes a first-class college to contribute the power to the development of Agriculture and the modernization of the country.

The duration time for international students is from March to June.
The academic year begins on September 1 every year.
Entry requirements
For undergraduate students: students with high school graduation (the same with sixth grade of middle school), good manners and physique, without criminal records, the descendants and immigrations of overseas Chinese and foreigners also, can apply SCAU.
For master students: applicants should have Bachelor’s Degree or above, good manners and physique, without criminal records.
For PhD students: applicants should have Master’s Degree or above, in good health and good manners, recommended by 2 professors.
