The College of Civil Engineering and Water Conservancy was set up officially in April of 2005.The faculty can be traced to its source of Agricultural Architecture and Environmental Engineering in 1985 and Industrial and Civil Architecture in 1989, both under the Department of Agricultural Engineering.
The College of Civil Engineering and Water Conservancy currently has 2 Departments, the Department of Civil Engineering and the Department of Water Conservancy & Hydropower Engineering. There are two branches under the Department of Civil Engineering, Architecture Design and Engineering Management. Besides, there are more than 20 master’ s and doctoral postgraduates under the Departments of Agricultural Water and Soil Engineering, Agricultural Biological Environment as well as Energy Engineering. Basing on the social needs and existing conditions, the undergraduate curriculum will have 3 new departments, Architecture Design, Engineering Management and Agricultural Water Conservancy Engineering before 2010.And they will try to require master authorization in Hydrology and Water Resource together with Engineering Mechanics for the postgraduate curriculum. Among the existing undergraduate curricula, Civil Engineering Construction and Reinforced Concrete have been rated as the university’s excellent curriculum.
In addition, the college possesses labs of building materials, thousands of collected books. Today the college has 48 young and sound- organized academic staff in vigor and vitality,10.42% of whom are professors, 10.42% are associate professor(senior engineer), 16.67％ have a doctoral degree, and 64.58％ have a master's degree or above.
For two decades, the college has sent more than 1,000 graduates to different positions. They have always worked hard, made great achievements and contributed to the development and prosperity of Guangdong economy. In recent years graduates of their college are popular. The graduates are mainly engaged in building construction design, civil engineering, research, education, investment, development, etc in interrelated government branch, educational department and enterprise. Employment status for the first time of graduates in year 2006 reached to 98.2％.

The application time is from March to June.
Requirements for Admission
Applicants must hold equivalent degrees with good results, in good health and aged 18 or above. Chinese Language requirement is HSK level 3 for undergraduate students, and for postgraduate students, the requirement is HSK Level 6.
