Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 Chengdu-Lhasa
Fly from Chengdu to Lhasa (about 2 hours). Admire Tibetan villages and Brahmaputra along the way. Take a rest to adjust the plateau climate in the afternoon.
Day 2 Lhasa
Visit the Potala Palace in the morning. It is a palace with the highest elevation in the world. Visit Jokhang Temple in the afternoon, which is not far from the Potala Palace, then visit the Barkhor Street Free Market.
Day 3 Lhasa- Yangpachen-Lhasa
Visit Yangpachen, the world-famous hot spring and enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Northern Tibetan grassland. In the afternoon, visit Nyenchen Tanglha.
Day 4 Lhasa-Yangzhuoyong Lake-Shigatse
Go to Shigatse after breakfast. Tramp over the Gangbala Mountain along the way. Observe the mountain and the Hero Rader Station in distance. Admire the Yangzhuoyong Lake, which is regarded as one of the three saint lakes of Tibet. View the Jinkangsang Peak and Karuola Glacier in distance. Visit Jiangzi and Palkor Chode.
Day 5 Shigatse-Lhasa
Visit the city of Shigatse in the morning. Visit the Zhashilunbu Temple, where the Panchen Lama lives. After lunch, return to Lhasa and admire the Brahmaputra and the magnificent sceneries along the way.
