The School of Mechatronics Engineering was established in 1964 as Department of Mechatronic Engineering, The School is the first series of universities that have Mechatronic Control direction. In 2001, it is renamed as School of Electromechanical Engineering. Currently, the School has four departments, namely Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electric and Electronic Engineering, and Modern Engineering Training Center. Also included are Intelligent Mechanical System Engineering Key Laboratory of Ministry of Information Industry and Intelligent Mechatronics System and Industry Information Key Laboratory of Sichuan Province.
It is involved in the following research areas: Intelligent Mechatronics System & Theory, Opti-Mechatrnoics, Electrical Automation, CAD/CAM/CAE/CAPP, Electronic Device Virtual Manufacturing Technology, Parallel Robotics, ERP and Modern Industrial Engineering. More than 50 projects undergone by the School gained Science and Technology Award at different levels.
It has established academic cooperation and joint programs with many universities and research institutes in USA, UK, Japan, France, Canada, Singapore, etc. In addition, it successfully organized IEEE International Conference on Intelligent Mechatronics and Automation (ICIMA 2004) and 3 China-Japan Symposium on Mechatronics.

Undergraduate students: 4 years
Master’s students: 2.5-3 years
Doctoral students: 3-4 years

Entry requirements
For Bachelor’s degree: the applicants should have senior high school certificate, above 18 years old but under 30 years old, in good health, HSK 3 certificate.
For master’s degree: the applicants should get Bachelor’s degree, a recommendation letter by 2 professors, HSK 4 certificate and under 40 years old.
For doctoral degree: the applicants should have master’s degree or above, a recommendation letter by 2 professors, HSK 4 certificate and under 45 years old.
