Qualifications for Applicants
(1) For non-degree students
The applicants at least graduate from a secondary school, in good health, and are interested in the Chinese language.
(2)Bachelor's Degree
Applicants must have a senior middle school diploma, be above 18 years old, passed at least HSK- 6 (those who fail the HSK-6 must learn Chinese in the Intensive Chinese Course for International Students until their Chinese reaches the required level).
(3)Master's Degree
Applicants must have bachelor's degree, be above 18 years old, and pass the entrance examination by ZUEL for master candidates and at least HSK-6 as well (those who fail the examination must learn Chinese in the Intensive Chinese Course for International Students until their Chinese reaches the required level).
(4)Doctor's Degree
Applicants must have master's degree, be above 18 years old, and pass entrance examination by ZUEL for doctoral candidates and at least HSK-6 as well (those who fail the examination must learn Chinese in the Intensive Chinese Course for International Students until their Chinese reaches the required level).
(5)Ordinary Graduate Students
Applicants must have a college schooling over 2 years, be generally under 45 Years old and finish their studying within 2 years.
(6)Advanced Graduate Students
Applicants must have their master' degrees or associate professor title(s), be under 50 Years old, and finish their studying generally within one year.
Application Time
Applicants for degree programs should submit their application to International Education School of ZUEL prior to June 15 every year.
Non-degree applicants may at any time directly contact the International Education School.
Materials Required for Application
1．ZUEL application form for international students;
2．The applicant's recent schooling certificate (the duplicated one);
3．The duplicated passport;
4．Application fees: RMB 300 yuan.
N.B.: Applicants for master's degrees must submit, besides the above 4 materials, the recommendation letters separately by 2 associates professors or professors;
Applicants for doctorates must submit, besides the above 4 materials, the recommendation letters separately by 2 professors;
Language Requirements
Chinese (Mandarin) is the principal language that international students for degrees will have to use during their studies at ZUEL. An international applicant must pass a Chinese Language Proficiency Test (HSK) before he/she starts courses. If the applicant fails in the test he/she must learn Chinese in the Intensive Chinese Course for International Students until his/her Chinese reaches the required level. Those who have a Primary C level (level 3 in HSK) may start their studies right away.
