Day by day itinerary
Day 1 Qingdao-Xining
Leave Qingdao for Xining by the train K172/173B and stay in the train for the night.
Day 2 Xining
The train will arrive in Xining at 21:53 and transfer to hotel to have a rest.
Day 3 Qinghai Lake or Kumbum Monastery
After breakfast, go to visit Qinghai Lake, 80kms away from Xining. When travel around it, you can appreciate this huge salt lake in this high attitude. With a high stage you can also see Longyangxia collecting with grassland and water source. After supper, leave Xining for Lhasa by the train N917.
Or go to visit Kumbum Monastery. This temple has a history of more than 400 and covers an area of 9600 acres. It‘s the most important and prestigious Lama temple in China.
Day 4 Lhasa
The train will arrive in Lhasa at 21:50 and then transfer to hotel to have a rest. You can travel around the Potala Palace Square and Chakpori Hill. You’d better have a rest in hotel to adjust to the environment and less violent sports.
Day 5 Lhasa
After breakfast, go to visit Potala Palace and take photo on Potala Palace Square. And then, go to visit Snow City, a museum located at the bottom of the Patala Palace. Later you can visit Jokhang Temple, with a history of 1350, the oldest temple in Lhasa. After that, you can have a free walk on Barkhor Street, in which converges all pilgrims from the country. On Barkhor Street you can have a panoramic view of Tibetan life. Stay in Lhasa with three meals.
Day 6 Nam Lake
Go to one of the three sacred lakes of Tibet- Nam Lake (4770 meters high). It covers an area of 1920 Square kilometers. You can admire the lake as well as the scenery collected with it, like Snow Mountains, grasslands, rocks and the blow sky! It will surely surprise you with such magnificent and great beauty! Later, you can have a hot spring SPA in Yangpachen at your own expense. After that, go back to Lhasa. Stay in Lhasa with three meals.
Day 7
Leave Lhasa for Gongbo'gyamda County to visit the Basum Lake and continue the journey to Nyingchi, the Tibetan great place full of rainfall and forests. Nyingchi, in Tibetan, it means “the stage for Sun”. Stay in Nyingchi with three meals.
Day 8
Go to visit King of Cypress Tree with a history of 2500 years. At Nyingchi National Reservation, you can admire Big Cypress. They are called “live fossil” for their long history. The oldest one has lived over 2600 years already! After that, transfer to Lhasa by vehicle. Stay in Lhasa with three meals.
Day 9
After breakfast, go to Lhasa Gongga airport or Railway Station and take your flight or train back home.
