Day 1 Shanghai/Beijing
Take a flight from Shanghai to Beijing. On arrival, the guide will hold a welcome sign to meet you. The rest of the day is free to relax. (L)
Day 2 Beijing
Take a half-day excursion to explore the incredible Forbidden City with its grand palaces and courtyards. Built in 1420, it was here that 24 emperors lived and ruled for over 500 years. The South Gate leads you to Tian'anmen Square - the biggest of its kind in the world. Continue to the North Sea Park. In the evening, walk along the famous Wang Fu Jing Street and taste the local snacks of Donghua Gate. (B/L)
Day 3 Beijing
You will take a full day guided visit to the awesome Great Wall of China. Here you can enjoy the stunning views as you stroll along this seemingly endless piece of history, which winds its way into the far distance. Visit the Cutural Centre of Pearl and jade, continue to Chang Ling Tomb, which was built at the beginning of the 15th century and now is the most intact one of the Ming Tombs. On the way you will taste Beijing’s specialty---- candied fruits and see the exterior scene of Olympic Village. (B/L)
Day 4 Beijing
Visit the beautiful Summer Palace where you can discover gardens, palaces and pavilions with temples and halls in a tranquil, landscaped lakeside setting. On the way you will enjoy the exterior scene of China Millennium Monument and the tower of CCTV. (B/L)
Day 5 Beijing
Explore the Temple of Heaven which itself has become a symbol of the city. Here ancient emperor worshipped God and prayed for harvest. Continue to visit the Calamus River Park and then appreciate the Cloisonné handcraft. Get back home by air or by train. (B/L)
