General Chinese Foundation Program

Program description

This program is designed for international students who want to study for a degree in China’s universities and have clear intention of subject area.

The duration of this program is one academic year (32 weeks), it focuses on an overall training of students’ Chinese language ability include listening, reading, speaking and writing, and developing their Chinese communication and application skills. A certain amount of social activities and practices, which will be led by teaching fellows according to the situation of the teaching materials, are also arranged to make students put into practice what they have learned in class. In order to make students better understand Chinese culture, the program is also arranged with various selective Chinese talent courses such as Tai Chi, Paper-cut, Chinese knot, folk dance and so on.

As a Foundation studies for special subjects, we set up relevant subject courses in the second semester in accord with students’ subject intention to help them understand the development and employment situations of their preferred subject study in China and master the professional filed terms, so to remove the impedimenta for the students before entering into the university to do professional degree study, and help students revise their subject intention in time as well.

As an authorized HSK test site, our special intensive HSK training courses in the second semester will be given by professional teachers from the Test Proposition Group, and we can flexibly arrange the HSK test time according to the demands of students, thus making preparation for students’ further applications to China’s universities and making sure that the students meet the entry requirements of Chinese language level.

Through one year’s study, students will be able to master almost 3,500 Chinese vocabularies and a certain amount of professional field terms, have no difficulty in daily communication, understand the situation of their preferred subjects in China and be clear about the subject they are going to study.

• Tuition fee: RMB 36880 per year (include teaching materials cost)

Entry requirement

1. Above 18 years old Non-Chinese citizen and in good health.
2. Know some basic Chinese language, for example, know Chinese phonetic alphabet, or can repeat a piece of Chinese conversation slowly.
3. The beginners are recommended to take a 3 or 6-month short-term intensive training class before commencing this program.
