Day 1 Beijing/Urumqi
Take a flight at Beijing Capital Airport to the famous city in the Northwest China---Urumqi.
Day 2 Urumqi/Turpan/Urumqi (B+L+D)
After breakfast, take a bus to China’s open-air museum---Turpan, passing through Dabancheng District, the world’s largest wind power base and salt lake, China’s Dead Sea. Visit the world’s largest and oldest city---Jiaohegucheng and
Uyghur ancient village, then you will have freedom to take pictures at the Flame Mountain. Next, you will be taken to visit karez---one of the three great projects in ancient China. After lunch visit the Grape Valley, which is 10 kilometers long and 0.5 kilometers wide. You can see folk performances in Uyghur families. Return to Urumqi at night.
Day 3 Urumqi/ Tianchi Lake/Dunhuang (B+L+D)
After breakfast, visit Tianchi Lake, one of the main scenic spots of state-level. Then visit International Grand Bazaar, one window of Xinjiang to the world and also one door to travel and trade. After dinner take a train to Liuyuan.
Day 4 Dunhuang (B+L+D)
Arrive at Dunhuang, then take a bus to the urban district. After breakfast visit Mogao Grottoes – the oldest Buddhist Holy Land of China and one of China’s three grotto art treasure troves. In the afternoon visit the natural wonders---the Mingsha Mountain and the Crescent Moon Spring.
Day 5 Dunhuang/Jiayuguan/Lanzhou (B+L+D)
Take a bus to Jiayuguan---the western starting point of the Great Wall, enjoying the view of the Gobi on the way. In the afternoon take a train to Lanzhou.
Day 6 Lanzhou/Xining (B+L+D)
Arrive at Lanzhou in the morning, have local breakfast---Lanzhou noodles and visit the ancient Yellow River irrigation tool---the water wheel, the mother river statue, the First Bridge on Yellow River---Zhongshan Iron Bridge, and Lanzhou’s landmark---White Dagoba Mountain. In the afternoon take a train to the pearl of the plateau---Xining. After arrival, check in the hotel.
Day 7 Xining/Qinghai Lake/Kumbum Monastery (B+L+D)
Take a bus to the China’s largest inland saltwater lake---Qinghai Lake. Visit Riyue Mountain on the way ---a Natural boundary between Loess Plateau and Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Then return to Xining and visit Kumbum Monastery---one of the six major temples of Yellow Sect.
Day 8 Xining/Lanzhou/Beijing (B)
After breakfast take a train back to Lanzhou, have free visit, then fly to Beijing.
Accommodation: 3-star hotels, double rooms.
