The 17 days exploration gives the tourists a splendor scene of desert and a chance to challenge your physical limitation. Travelers will first go across the desert by cross-country vehicle in vertical direction, then walking through the desert in horizontal direction.
Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 Beijing-Urumchi
Leave for Urumchi by air, and then register in hotel.
Day 2 Urumchi-Ku’erle
Leave Urumchi for Ku’rele. After breakfast, there’ll be a leaving ceremony and then go to Ku’erle by cross-country vehicle.
Day 3 Ku’erle-Ruoqiang
Go to Ruoqiang, which is an important town on Silk Road and then stretch into Milan Town to visit the descendants of Luobu Tribe.
Day 4 Ruoqiang-Qiemo
Travelers will visit the museum of Ruoqiang, appreciate the historical relic of Xiaohe Churchyard. After that, travelers will leave for Qiemo and then visit ancient graves in Zagunluke, ancient town Qiemo and the landowners’ manors.
Day 5 Qiemo-Yutian
After arriving at Yutian, travelers will excurse the Great Bazaar in Yutian to make preparations for the desert trip. There’ll be a party to mark the beginning of the great trip in the evening.
Day 6 Yutian-hinterland of desert
In the sixth day, travelers will go across the Taklimakan Desert along the Keliya River by cross-country vehicle; during the trip they can admire the original forest which is mostly Huyang trees, and also the extremely special cultures and customs of minorities and primitive cottages.
Day 7 Desert hinterland-Keliyabu
Go across the Taklimakan Desert by cross-country vehicle along the Keliya River. Arrive at the hinterland of the desert, the uncultivated land of Daliyabuyi about 4 p.m.
Day 8 Walking through the Taklimakan Desert (the 1st day)
This is the first day of walking through the desert. The beeline distance of the trip is some 88km. The travelers will walk 8km the first day which requires about 5 to 6 hours.

Day 9 Walking through the Taklimakan Desert (the 2nd day)
The journey is about 12 to 17km.
Day 10 Walking through the Taklimakan Desert (the 3rd day)
The vast hinterland of the desert enables you to appreciate the astonishing and splendid scene of nature. In the evening, travelers can sit around a needfire, sing and dance, or have a boundless chat; they can also lie on the soft dune and watch the moon and stars and trace back to your childhood.
Day 11 Walking through the Taklimakan Desert (the 4th day)
Photograph the sunrise and sunset in the desert and admire the desert landscape to your heart’s content, you can also surfing on the dune.
Day 12 Walking through the Taklimakan Desert (the 5th day)
On this day the distance is about 20km.
Day 13 Walking through the Taklimakan Desert (the 6th day)
A walking journey about 18-22km.
Day 14 Taklimakan Desert-Mountain Mazatage
From this day on, the travelers will begin a walking trip for 7 days, with 20km,4 to 5 hours of walking per day. When arrive at the foot of the Mountain Mazatage, which situated on the Hetian River, the travelers could climb the mountain and enjoy the golden Huyang Forest. In the evening, a party will be held to celebrate the successful journey.
Day 15 Mountain Mazatage-Hetian
Go to Hetian by cross-country vehicle, which is called “Yutian” in ancient times. It is one of the 36 important towns in the west and one of the earliest Buddhism Centre. Visit the jade-carving factory, silk factory, handcraft carpet factory and have a look at the King core-peach tree. In the evening, the travelers will participate a banquet and enjoy songs and dances, which is organized by the local government to celebrate the success of this journey.
Day 16 Hetian-Urumchi
Leave Hetian for Urumchi on air. Take a rest and shopping in bazaar.

Day 17 Urumchi-Beijing
Travelers are allowed to take personal activities after breakfast, and then return to Beijing by plane.
