Introduction

In this 18 days’ journey, travelers will first visit some famous scenery spots in Beijing, and then go to Xi’an and visit several places. Then travelers will begin their exploration tour on deserts and grasslands. This journey not only contains well-known historical spots, but also unique landscape on desert and grasslands. Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive Beijing & transfer to the hotel, visit the Temple of Heaven in the afternoon.
Day 2
Visit the Palace Museum and Summer Palace and Beijing Opera in the evening.
Day 3 The Great Wall
Day 4
The morning is free time, transfer to the railway station for T41 (soft sleeper) which leaves Beijing at 17:12
Day 5
Arrive at Xi'an at 06:45, transfer to the hotel, and then visit the Great Mosque, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda & Shaanxi History Museum.
Day 6
The Terra-cotta Army, Huaqing Pool & the Neolithic village
Day 7
Am free in Xi'an. In the afternoon, drive to Tianshui (5 hrs).
Day 8
Visit the Maiji Grottoes and Ganquan Street. Pm drive to Guyuan (6 hrs)
Day 9
Visit the Great Mosque in Tongxin County and the Xumishan Grottoes, Pm drive to Zhongwei.(4 hrs)
Day 10
Drive to Shapotou, optional sand sleeding on sand dunes and short sheepskin raft journey, then drive into Tengger Desert to meet camels. Camel riding & walking, camping through sand dunes.
Day 11
Full day's camel trek.
Day 12
Am free-with opportunity for further optional camel riding, then drive back to Zhongwei. Late pm walk to Gaomiao Temple
Day 13
Am boated sheepskin rafts, travel downstream to 108 Pagoda near Qingtongxia (3 hrs), drive to Wuzhong Bazaar + short walk on the Great Wall. Late pm drive to Yinchuan.
Day 14
Am drive to Ningxia Museum & West Pagoda, pm drive to Western Xia Mausoleums to visit the tombs, cliff pictures of Helan Mt. then drive to the railway station for night T44 (hardsleeper) which leaves at 23:35.
Day 15
T44 arrive Hohhot at 09:15, transfer to grassland area (Xilamuren) to visit Nomantic families and stay overnight in gers.
Day 16
Drive back to Hohhot, late am drive to railway station for K218 leaves at 11:29 and arrives Datong at 15:50.
Day 17
Visit Yungang Buddhist Caves- 50 caves + 51000 statues (2 hrs), Pm transfer to railway station for night trainT706 (hard sleeper), which leaves at 23:30.
Day 18
T706 arrive at Beijing at 06:10
