Day by day itinerary
Day 1
Leave form Xian to Urumqi by train, and the Silk Road tour begins.
Day 2
Travelling on the train, you can appreciate the grand desert of West China.
Day 3
Visit the Heavenly Lake of Tianshan Mountain－the secret meeting place of the Queen Mother of the West after breakfast, (pay for the cableway and the cruise by yourselves). View the grand Bogeda Peak which has an altitude of 5445 meters, the steep Stone Gate, the springs and waterfalls, the Heilong pool, and the basin of the Queen Mother for feet washing. Then visit the jade carving factories and the Tianshan Pharmacy. Return to Urumqi in the afternoon, and have fun at the Bazaar (the local market) of the Second Bridge.
Day 4
After breakfast, you will view along the way the landscape of Dabancheng, the Wind Power Station of Baili, and the Mountain of Fire. Then, you can visit the Poke Palace, the ancient city of Gaochang－the ancient capital of Western China with a history of thousands of years, the Qanat－the local irrigation system, and the Grape Valley－a place rich in grapes. And then, go back to Urumqi, and return to Dunhuang by train.
Day 5
Tour the Buddhist holy land of China－ the Mogao Grottoes－after breakfast to feel the baptism of the Buddhism and its profound creeds; after lunch, climb the MingSha Mountain and appreciate the natural wander of the desert－the Yueya Spring. Go to Shashi at night to taste Sanpaotai－a kind of local tea.
Day 6
Visit the west end of the Great Wall－the Jiayu Pass, and have a distant view of the mirage.
Day 7
Return to Xian by train in the morning.
Day 8
Reach Xian at noon, and finish the joyful trip.
