After combining with the Department of Economics and the Department of Management, the School was finally established in July, 2003. Since its establishment, it has kept the students remaining dominant place and taken “training innovative talents” as its objective. It takes full advantage of its own features, reforms the traditional teaching mode, enhances faculty construction, and runs regular management in order to improve the level of teaching, scientific research and management. The School has made great achievements in various work fields.
At present, the School offers 7 Bachelor’s degree programs, including Economics, International Economics & Trade, Accounting, Marketing, Business Administration, Tourism Management, Information System & Information Management, 3 Master’s degree programs covering World Economics, National Minority Economics, and Business Management, and 4 institutes. The School owns a total number of 75 full-time faculty members with 33 full and associate professors. Among them, there are 22 graduate supervisors and 13 Doctoral degrees. The faculty has a reasonable structure of knowledge, age and specialty.
The School now has an enrollment of 2121 full-time students with 1962 undergraduates and 159 postgraduates. The School attaches great importance to academic exchange both domestically and internationally. Every year, it sends a considerable number of faculty and students to go further study at internal and external universities. In 2006, it began to carry out the Sino-foreign cooperated mode of teaching which improves the teaching level.
Looking forward, the School of Yanbian University will inherit and carry forward fine traditions of active academic atmosphere and preciseness of teaching, take full advantage of itself, enhance level and quality of training the talents, serve for the construction of country economic system, make itself be the first grade university in Jilin Province and famous in China, and become a characteristic base of fostering talents and academic research.

Application time
For Bachelor’s degree, the duration for application is from March 1st to July 30th.
The academic year begins in the early September.
For Master’s degree and Doctoral degree, the time for application is the same as the Bachelor’s degree.
Entry requirements
For Bachelor’s degree:
Be above 18 years old, senior high school graduate, HSK6 certificate or above, in good health.
For Master’s degree:
Have Bachelor’s degree or above, HSK4 certificate or above, academic score list, 2 recommended letters from two associate professors or above, in good health.
For Doctoral degree:
Have Master’s degree or above, HSK4 certificate or above, academic score list, 2 recommended letters from two associate professors or above, in good health.
