The College of Educational Science was founded in March, 2000. It was made up of the original education department, educational technology department and higher education study room. The education department was one of the oldest disciplines in Anhui province. In 1928, at the beginning of the school’s foundation, the education department was set up in the School of Humanity and Laws. After the efforts of several generations, this college has accumulated abundant teaching resource.
Currently, this college has set up 6 bachelor’s programs. They are pedagogy, education technology, psychology, primary school education, preschool education and photography. It also has 7 masters-degree programs, such as foundations of education, educational history, psychology, etc. And the doctor station of educational foundation will be gained hopefully in the near future.
Now, this college has 103 teaching and administrative staff, in which, 14 are professors, 35 are associate professors, 28 are doctors. There are over 1,300 full-time undergraduates, over 350 graduate students and nearly 1,400 correspondence students at the college. The college is equipped with educational technology experimental center, experimental center of psychology and experimental center of photography. The total area of the laboratories is 1,820 square meters. And the total value of all the instruments and equipments amounts to 8.85 million yuan. There are over 16,000 reference books, 3,100 audio-visual materials, over 6,000 various Chinese and English magazines, newspapers and periodicals. And all these provide a good condition for the teaching and research activities.
Currently, this college has become an important base of personnel training and scientific research in Anhui province. And it stably keeps the leading position in the cognate disciplines of Anhui province. It also has great influence on the similar disciplines nationwide.
