Study Chinese Language & Literature 中国语言文学 at Tsinghua University

The School of Humanities and Social Sciences has seven departments, five institutes, four centers (for details see SHSS homepage), and twenty interdisciplinary research institutions, such as Teaching Section for Courses in Ideological and Political Theories, Research Center of Chinese Economic History, Center for Ethics and Religious Studies, Research Center for Science, Technology and Society, Europe Studies Center, Sino-French Academic Center, Sino-Russian Culture Exchange Center, Research Center for Linguistics, College Moral Education Research Center, Base for General Education Courses in Social Sciences, Nomura Research Institute—Tsinghua University China Research Center, Center for Translation and Interdisciplinary Studies, Research Center for Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies, Tsinghua University-Hong Kong University Psychology Counseling Center, North-east Asian Research Center, Institute of International Sinology, Inter-University Program for Chinese Language Studies, Center for Asian Studies, Center for Liberal Education, Beijing Branch of Confucius Institute for Business, London. The core academic journals Journal of Tsinghua University (philosophy and social sciences edition) and Tsinghua University Education Studies are published by SHSS. Currently, the School has undertaken 370 research projects, among which 70 are national projects, and 120 are provincial projects, and has received over 200 awards of various kinds, and published 2970 research papers and 589 books, including translations. The School also actively seeks academic collaboration with institutions at home and abroad, and has set up extensive academic exchange programs with institutions in North America, Europe, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau, and has hosted more than 50 international academic conferences. To better serve the needs of the broad society, the School has set up a training section with degree and non-degree programs for continuing education. Every year it opens dozens of graduate classes, advanced seminars, training classes for ministries of the central government, local governments, as well as state and private companies, and has trained for them more than 1000 people.
