Founded in May, 2002, the School of Political Science and Administration, Hunan University consists of Department of History, Department of Politics, Department of Ideological and Political Education, Department of Public Administration, Department of Philosophy, Research Institute of Politics, Research Institute of Public Administration, Research Institute of History and Culture, Research Institute of Science and Technology and Social Development, Research Institute of International Relations, Research Center of Marxism and Research Center of applied Ethics.
The programs include 5 lever-1 disciplines of Philosophy, Politics, Public Administration, History and Theory of Marxism, a center for post-doctoral studies of Philosophy, 4 doctoral programs of Ethics, Bioethics, Basic Principles of Marxism and Ideological and Political Education, 5 lever-1 master programs of Philosophy, Politics, Public Administration, History, Theory of Marxism, and 2 bachelor programs of Ideological and Political Education and Administrative Management.
The school totally has 117 faculty, among whom there are 25 professors, 41 vice-professors, 21 doctors, 4 post doctors. Currently the school owns more than 30,000 undergraduate students and over 5,000 master graduate students and doctoral students. Two of the school’s disciplines (Basic Principles of Marxism, Ethics) have been honored as the provincial key disciplines and another three the key disciplines of Zhongnan University.
In the past few years, the school has established close academic exchange and cooperation links with a number of class 1 domestic universities and institutions of America, Britain, France, Norway, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, Taiwan, Hong Kong and other countries and regions.

Application time
For Bachelor’s degree, the duration for application is from February to June 30. The academic year begins on September 1.
For Master’s degree and Doctoral degree, the duration for application is from March to July.
Entry requirements
For Bachelor’s degree: high school graduation in China, have Band III certificate in HSK, or have studied Chinese for more than one year.
For Master’s degree: a Bachelor’s degree in china, recommended by two professors, have Band III certificate in HSK, or have studied Chinese for more than one year.
For Doctoral degree: a Master’s degree in china, recommended by two professors, have Band III certificate in HSK, or have studied Chinese for more than one year.
