Founded in February, 2001, the College of Electroning Engineering inherited the school history of the Department of Radio Engineering and the Department of Information and Computation Science in Chongqing College of Posts and Telecommunications, together with the research Institution of Communication Technique of Optical Fibre. The college now has 3 bachelor’s degree programs, namely Light Information Science and Technology, Microelectronics and Electronics Science and Technology, and 4 master's degree authorization center of Lever 2 Discipline for Electromagnetic Fields and Microwave Techniques, Microelectronics and Solid State Electronics, Circuits and Systems and Physical Electronics. Currently the college has more than 1500 bachelors and graduates.
During its booming development, the College of Electroning Engineering has been taking the principle of “people oriented” and attaching importance to the introduction and training of talents. Now the college has 41 teaching staff, among whom 20 possess high title, 17 possess intermediate professional title. 11 teachers have a doctor’s degree, 18 teachers have a master’s degree and there are 4 tutors of Ph.D students. Since the year 2001, the teachers of the college have published 552 papers, among which 186 papers had been collected by SCI, EI and ISTP. The college has undertaken 863 important projects and 88 scientific research projects including the state natural sciences fund.
The College has been focusing on the academic exchange and communication with domestic and international colleges. It has established relationships of scientific research cooperation and exchange with many famous universities and research institutes in USA, Britain, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, etc., and invited well-known scholars to come and give lectures aperiodically. For the past few years, the College has successfully sponsored several international and domestic academic conferences.

Application is accepted at any time of the year in CQUPT. And the spring semester begins around the beginning of March, while the fall semester begins at the beginning of September.
Entry requirements
For Bachelor’s program: Be in good health condition; with senior high school diploma and HSK certificate of level 4 or above;
For Master’s program: Be in good health condition; with Bachelor degree and HSK certificate of level 6 or above;
Note: for preparatory students, they should be with senior high school diploma and without Chinese knowledge;

Note: for foreign students who want to learn Wushu, the tuition fee is RMB 7,000 for one semester and 14000 for one year; For Chinese language learning, the tuition fee is RMB 600 for one week, RMB 6000 for one semester and RMB 12,000 for one year.
