Dalian Neusoft Institute of Information is an independent institute which is authorized by the Ministry of Education of China. Set up by the Northeastern University and Neusoft Group on a new model basis, the institute fully takes the academic advantages of computer science from the Northeastern University, the industrial advantages of IT industry from Neusoft Group and the environmental advantages of Dalian national software base.
Neusoft is an institute with engineering as its main concentration and other departments including economic management, as well as humanities disciplines. The institute consists of the following departments: Department of Computer Science and Technology, Department of Information Technology and Business Administration, Department of Embedded System Engineering, Department of Digital Arts, English Department, and Japanese Department to carry out full-time 4-year higher college education, whose enrollment has been included into the national general college enrolling program. In addition, the institute also involves the postgraduate education of Dalian software engineering and the education of overseas students.
Dalian Neusoft Vocational Institute of Information Technology is a voluntary school authorized by Liaoning Provincial Government and registered in the Ministry of Education. As one of the first group of national model professional software institutes, it carries out full-time 3- and 4- year higher college education and the institute’s enrollment has been included in the national general higher education enrolling plan. In 2003, the institute was awarded one of the 35 national model software professional institutes and elected chairman institute of the alliance which consists of the above 35 institutes.
Dalian Neusoft Institute of Information is located in the Software Park, a national model software industrial base of Dalian (a beautiful coastal city in northeastern China’s Liaoning Province). The institute covers an area of 585 thousand square meters with 350 thousand square meters occupied by buildings.
As a professional IT institute invested by enterprise, it enjoys its fame as a “laptop university” because each student in the institute owns their personal laptop.
