The School of Law, Fudan University was originally founded in 1929. After decades of adjustment and development, it finally became a school of an individual discipline.
The school has a scholarship committee, 9 discipline groups (Legal Theory, Legal History, Constitutional Law and Administrative Law, Penal Law, Civil and Commercial Law, Litigation Law, Economic Law, Science of Environment and Natural Resources Protection Law and International Law), 9 research centers (research on civil and commercial law, international law, rule of law, Chinese legal culture, justice, comparative law and common law, Japan and East Asia, procedural law, and financial law), a reference center and an administration center.
Now the school has 69 faculty, among whom there are 24 professors, 19 vice-professors, 31 doctors and 18 doctoral tutors. The total number of current students reaches over 1900, including 200 international students, 1000 postgraduates and 700 undergraduates. The school has a center for post-doctoral studies of class-1 discipline of Law, a doctoral program of Civil and Commercial Law, 9 master’s programs covering Legal Theory, Constitutional Law and Administrative Law, Law History, Civil and Commercial Law, Litigation Law, Penal Law, Economic Law, and Science of Environment and Natural Resources Protection Law.
The school has been very active in international academic exchanges. At present, it has established close academic exchange and cooperation links with a number of law schools or law departments of famous universities such as Yale University, Harvard University, Duke University, Columbia University, Washington University and Georgetown University in America, Trinity University in Ireland, Humboldt University, Hamburger University and Bucerius Law School in German,Nagoya University, Kwansei Gakuin University and Yamanashi Gakuin University in Japan, Moscow University in Russia, Korea University, and University of Singapore.

Application time
For undergraduate applicants, the application time is from March 30th to April 10th; for postgraduate applicants, the application deadline of fall semester in 2009 is April 15th; for doctoral applicants, the application deadline of spring semester in 2010 is October 30th, 2009.
Entry requirements
For Bachelor’s degree: Applicants should have senior high school diploma, academic records, health certificate and HSK6 certificate.
For Master’s degree: Applicants should have Bachelor’s degree, recommended by two associate professors or above, academic records, health certificate,HSK8 certificate.
For Doctoral degree: Applicants should have Master’s degree, academic records, recommended by two associate professors or above, health certificate, one or two academic papers HSK8.
