The School of Social Development and Public Policy was formally established on December 19th, 2004. The youngest school in Fudan University consists of the Department of Sociology and the Population Institute.
The School of Social Development and Public Policy is comprehensive school made up of degree education of each lever and several research centers. The programs include four class Ⅰ disciplines: Sociology, Economics, Psychology and Public Administration. The bachelor’s program includes Sociology, Social work and Psychology; the master’s program includes Sociology, Demology, Anthropology, Population, Resources and Environment Economics and Social Security; the doctoral program is Population, Resources and Environment Economics. The school also has several research centers and institutes such as Demology Research Institute, Research Center of Social Development, Research Center of Women, Research Center of Psychology and Research Center of Human Rights.
Currently the school has four Departments: Department of Sociology, department of Social Work, Department of Psychology and Department of Social Development & Social Policy. The school has established friendly co-operative ties and academic exchange programs with the government department and some international education institutions.

Undergraduate students: 4~5 years
Postgraduate students: 3 years
Doctoral students: 3 years
Application time
For undergraduate applicants, the application time is from March 30th to April 10th; for postgraduate applicants, the application deadline of fall semester in 2009 is April 15th; for doctoral applicants, the application deadline of spring semester in 2010 is October 30th, 2009.
Entry requirements
For Bachelor’s degree: Applicants should have senior high school diploma, academic records, health certificate and HSK6 certificate.
For Master’s degree: Applicants should have Bachelor’s degree, recommended by two associate professors or above, academic records, health certificate,HSK8 certificate.
For Doctoral degree: Applicants should have Master’s degree, academic records, recommended by two associate professors or above, health certificate, one or two academic papers HSK8.
