The Accounting major of Guangdong University of Finance was established in 1989. In May, 1993, Guangzhou College of Finance transferred teachers who are engaged in accounting education to set up the Department of Accounting. In May, 2004, this school was promoted to Guangdong University of Finance. And the Department of Accounting, Guangdong University of Finance was formally established. Till now, this department has a history of 20 years.
Department of Accounting is equipped with 5 teaching and research sections of basic accounting, financial accounting, financial management, auditing and financial accounting. It also has 2 laboratories of financial accounting and stimulated bank, 1 research institute of accounting and auditing. Besides, this department has department office, office of the assistants and reference room.
Department of Accounting now offers 3 undergraduate programs--- accounting, accounting (auditing direction) and financial management. Currently, there are over 2,000 undergraduate students at this department.
Department of Accounting has 62 teaching and administrative staffs. Of the 52 full-time teachers, 7 are professors, 24 are associate professors, 60% of the teachers are holders of senior technical titles and 16 are lecturers. 31% of the teachers are doctors or doctoral degree candidates. The whole department has 11 certified accountants, 5 advanced accountants and 8 accountants. They cover 46% of all the full-time teachers.
Since the foundation of the Department of Accounting, all the teachers of the department have participated or finished over 30 scientific research projects at provincial department level or above. And they have published over 820 theses on many public journals both at home and abroad, such as research of accounting, fiscal studies, research of finance, research of auditing, etc. And on has won the excellent teaching achievement prize at provincial level, over 40 have won the teaching and scientific research prizes of all various types at university-level or above.

For Bachelor’s degree: Applicants must be under the age of 35 years, and in good physical condition, holding a non-China passport and having graduated from high school, academic records, have an HSK test score of grade 3 or above.
