The Department of Finance was founded in May, 2002. Its predecessor was the department of finance and department of international finance of Guangzhou Higher College of Finance. In May, 2004, Guangdong University of Finance became a school for undergraduate students and in September of the same year, it began to recruit undergraduate students of finance.
Department of Finance has 2 undergraduate programs (finance, fiscal science). This department is equipped with 6 teaching and research sections, i.e., theory of finance, international finance, investment and financing, financial engineering, finance and taxation and laboratory of finance (provincial level experiment demonstration center). It also has the research institute of financial transformation and development and the research institute of regional economics and finance. The administrative service institutions include department office, office of student management and reference room.
Department of Finance has 66 teaching and administrative staffs. There are 48 full-time teachers in this department and 40 are teachers of the finance major, among whom, 57.5% are holders of associate senior technical titles or above, 95% are holders of master’s degree or above. And 100% of the teachers of fiscal science major are masters or above. Besides, this major has 5 returned overseas teachers, 8 university-level outstanding teachers, etc. All the 48 full-time teachers graduated from the famous comprehensive universities both at home and abroad.
In recent 5 years, under the guidance of the famous young scholar Lulei, every teacher of this department publishes an average of 1.45 theses annually. The teachers’ participation rate of scientific research is 100%. Besides, Department of finance has held 16 scientific research items at provincial and ministerial level or above. It has also published over 40 academic theses in authoritative journals. And it has publicly published 319 theses, of which, 200 are published in core journals. In addition, this department has published 7 monographs and one has won the first prize of national financial education foundation, etc.
In recent three years, 35 students of this department have won awards in national college English competition. 10 have won awards in national college mathematical modeling contest, etc.

Entry Requirements
For Bachelor’s Degree: Applicants must be under the age of 35 years, and in good physical condition, holding a non-China passport and having graduated from high school, academic records, have an HSK test score of grade 3 or above.
