The School of English for International Business (SEIB) was established in May 2001, through a merger of several departments from other schools and faculties. Striving to cultivate students with a good command of English and a solid foundation in international business, the school provides two majors, and accordingly confers B.A.degree and Bachelor's degree in Management.
At present, the school has 1898 undergraduates, 91graduates and a staff of 180 teachers, among which 34 are professors and associate professors, 32 are lecturers, 104 are teachers, and there are 10 foreign experts as well. Most members of the faculty have been or are further being educated in the US, the UK, Australia, Canada and Germany. They possess Master's degrees or Doctoral degrees in Management, Economics, Finance, Law, and so on. Some of them have close connections with the corporate world and have a lot of business experience.
Besides the learning of English, international business and computer skills, students are provided opportunities to participate in a variety of academic and social practice activities to develop learning and practice abilities. Equipped with a combined background of English and business, graduates of this school enjoy a high rate of employment and are welcomed by many enterprises and various organizations.
