Civil Construction Institute, Henan University of Technology dates from August, 1978. In January, 2005, the Civil Construction Institute was formally established.
Civil Construction Institute consists of administration office, teaching office, general Youth League branch, office of student work, department of civil engineering, department of engineering management, department of architecture, department of architecture and environment, experimental teaching center, teaching and research section of engineering mechanics, etc. Currently, Civil Construction Institute offers 4 undergraduate programs (civil engineering, engineering management, architecture, architectural environment and equipment engineering) and 10 postgraduate programs (civil engineering, management science and engineering, constructional engineering, geotechnical engineering, engineering mechanics, disaster prevention and reduction engineering and protective engineering, municipal engineering, bridge and tunnel engineering, heating ventilating and air conditioning, geographical information system). Of the above-mentioned programs, the constructional engineering and geotechnical engineering are two provincial level key disciplines. The civil engineering program is a famous major in Henan Province.
Currently, Civil Construction Institute has 88 teaching and administrative staffs. Of the 84 full-time teachers, 9 are holders of senior professional titles, 21 are holders of associate senior professional titles, 18 are professors, 4 are doctoral tutors, 15 are master’s tutors, 2 are experts who can enjoy the special allowance of the state council, 1 is national outstanding teacher of mechanics, etc.
At present, Civil Construction Institute is undertaking 2 major projects financed by the state natural sciences fund, 1 key project of the national 11th five-year plan, 15 are critical projects financed by the natural sciences fund of Henan Province, etc. Till now, it has won a progress prize in science and technology of Henan Province and 35 other prizes at provincial and ministerial level or above. Besides, it has published over 400 theses, of which, many were embodied by SCI, EI and ISTIP, etc.

Entry requirements
For Bachelor’s degree: Applicants must be under the age of 35 years, and in good physical condition, holding a non-China passport and having graduated from high school, academic records, have an HSK test score of grade 3 or above.
For Master’s degree: Applicants must be under 40 of age and in good physical condition, holding a non-China passport and a Bachelor’s degree, have 2 letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors, have an HSK test score of level 5 or above.
